    The stuff I use has:
Undenatured Whey Protein Concentrate From Milk
    Cocoa Powder
    Emulsifier (Soy Lecithin)

    The bread I eat has:
    Wheat Flour,
    Water,
    Yeast,
    Salt,
    Soya Flour,
    Fermented Wheat Flour,
    Emulsifiers: E472e, E471 (made from Vegetable Oils);
    Vegetable Fat,
Flour Treatment Agent: Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C).

TBH I feel relatively happy consuming both, but if you asked which seems safer...

    I bake my own!

No big deal, as I said each to their own, arguments for and against both methods.

I take hemp protein powder, just looked at the ingredients, it says 100 per cent hemp protein. That's it.
  • She was essentially eating cottage cheese. Apparently this spoils the rhyme for some people :o

While we're on the supplement thingy - does anyone take creatine? Is it worth it for a powerlifter?

    HBS x

    I'm a powerlifter and I use creatine :)

No need to do any loading and unloading phases, just take 3-5g daily.
  • Diminishing returns. It's a waste of money for 95% of people who just want to be fit, and aren't bothered about reaching their absolute peak (which is often only 5%-10% fitter than what they are on a more relaxed diet and exercise routine).

I take protein shakes after lifting and to top up my daily protein levels. I find it defiantly makes a difference to the day after ache compared to not taking it!

Toxic fad, don't eat chemicals, eat real food that your body was designed to eat

No product that any company comes up with can replace what nature provided you with

Er, Have you heard of Soylent? Well there are two types (not made from humans as per flim - Soylent Green, but they stole the name :) ) There is now the new commercial product, and there is the old DIY Soylent.

Here is the DIY version http://diy.soylent.me/ and there are 'fitness' or bulking ones, if I remember correctly. Best if you choose a country, as the ingredients will be more easily available.

I am sure you will find the commercial and many other sites if you google 'Soylent'.

"Typically we envision a beverage, mixed from a non-perishable powder, which provides complete nutrition, and which is reasonably priced, such that a person of ordinary means could afford to live on it as their sole source of food. But thanks to innovations of the community, the definition of soylent as a beverage is no longer catch-all. Soylent can be a brownie, a custard, a porridge, or even a soup.

We can reasonably give the following definition. Soylent is a single food item which provides complete nutrition, and is reasonably priced (in the same sense as before). Anything fulfilling these criteria deserves to be called soylent.

The word soylent is also used by some people to refer to a collection of foods which together provide complete nutrition; for example this and this. To me this seems to be stretching the definition of the word "soylent" beyond meaningfulness. For the purposes of this guide we will assume that "soylent" means a single food item."

Would not be surprised if this will become the prison, survivalist and other emergency services food of choice, due to cheapness, long life, easy preparation and the complete goodness within?
  • Er, it's just a recipe for .. Ahem... filling the toilet.

I get mine from the protein works - and the blueberry crush flavour is one of my favourites (alongside caramel macchiato) and I always add it to my fruit smoothies in the morning!

I always make my protein shakes (not breakfast protein smoothies) with half water, half milk and doesn't impact the flavour. Can't bring myself to drink it with just water!
