    Are they required somewhere to provide banking services to NI?

    Some of the NI banks don't provide services to Britian and i've never felt the need to moan.
    Yes, I see it says:

    So, the UK Sterling money of folks living in Northern Ireland is good enough for their Savings account products and spending in their stores, but not good enough for their Current Account - at least that's the way it seems. :(

    Edit:

    Have just logged a complaint by telephone - perhaps others in NI who might be interested in an account will do likewise.

    Your selected question and answer

    Question:
    Are Tesco Bank Current Accounts available in Northern Ireland?

    Answer:
    No, Tesco Bank Current Accounts are not available to people living in Northern Ireland, due to the regulatory differences between NI and the rest of the UK.

    We hope to be able to offer current accounts to you in the future

    Just a sting in the tail if you don't deposit £750.
    As I said;
    - Everyone will be able to avoid the £5/month fee, even if it means sending and receiving £1 back and forwards 750 times.

    As I said;

    If you don't deposit £750 then there is a £5 fee.

    The fact that you can deposit £750 to have the fee waived doesn't mean you wouldn't get charged it if you don't ;)

    I miss opinions4u :(

    I was wondering whether it would be possible to pay cheques in to the account. I was assuming it might not be possible.

    However you can deposit cheques both by post also by paying in at certain stores.
    Indecision is the key to flexibility :)

    I may be misremembering but I think the management thought he was sometimes not nice to newbies. He didn't suffer fools gladly. I also seem to remember a thread at the time lamenting his dismissal but for some mysterious reason the thread disappeared.
