started first job in a office where people in the room control aircon

I believe that 21c is the recommended sort of temperature for the home so, if you're sat at a desk all day you're bound to feel cold if they've only got it on 18. At my last job I was the only one who felt cold because everyone else was either grossly overweight or menopausal, lol. How about getting in early and whacking up the heat so at least you'll be warm enough until they put it back down again? I used to sit at my desk with an extra jumper on and my coat laid over my legs, so you have my sympathies.0

Stick with it, you just need layers I wear jumpers or cardis in the summer in most places these days as aircon is freezing in summer and in winter it's usually boiling (unless the heating breaks down ;-) ) Agree with the other OPS that water and moisturiser are essentials too.0

I've had this too working in a gallery. The solution was to buy this plastic thing to attach to the aircon to point it upwards - this is one of those big square units on the ceiling as oppose to the smaller units on the walls. Before that we kept covering it with cardboard and tape, which fell down twice a day lol.0

Do you have a link for this device?
Ac is now on 16, and all the ones complaining about being too hot are pretty overweight, not that I want to get flamed its just a fact.0 -
Monitor the actual temperature at your desk: if it falls below 16 degrees C you have some rights.

I used to notice that the ones wanting too cool a temperature tended to be noticeably overweight too and this tends to be exacerbated by the fact that some people don't see any discrepancy between complaining they are hot whilst not taking off an extra layer of clothing (eg cardigan) they are wearing.
The first thing to do if feeling uncomfortable temperature-wise is to remove or put on extra clothing and it does look really odd to sit sweating whilst wearing extra (though I came to realise that was about covering up and hiding flesh, rather than temperature).
In the end, I took to having a throw or two available to put over myself and an old outdoor jacket to put on to help stay warm. When I had to put that jacket on it did help the more reasonable people realise that the temperature was, objectively speaking, too cold and that those wearing "natural overcoats" were perhaps not being as fair as they should be about the temperature the office needed to be.0 -
You're not having much luck are you, next think they'll be planting trees so you can't see out the window
I do sympathise though I get really nasty headaches and sore eyes from aircon.0 -
I hate air on but then again, I work outdoors and there are times, like this week, when it is just far too hot to even think straight.Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0

Thanks everyone, glad to know its not just me that gets headaches and sore eyes from air con.
Can't even think with these pounding headaches. Its not even hot today (14-15 degrees outside) and the air con is blairing away while all the windows are shut. I can't really change any of these as I'm outnumbered.
Might just have to quit it and know that offices aren't for me.0
