Taking in a lodger: receipt or rentbook?

I'm in Housing Association but I have to again take in a lodger to make up for a shortfall in cash. My lodger is going to stay longer than expected but wants receipts.
Should the receipt say 'Received £xyz from Mr.... for lodging or rental at 'postcode''?
Would it be better to give him a rent book (I could create one with MS Word)?
Does anyone know of templates to create receipts or rent-books for lodgers?
P.S. My Housing Association does allow me to take in a lodger (that's relief!)
Thank you

Receipts are fine. For lodging. (It doesn't actually matter so much what you put on the receipt as it is the facts of occupation that determine what service you are providing, it just needs to be clear what it relates to). Copy for each of you. Specify the relevant dates also.
Rent books are for weekly tenancies.0 -

Really does not matter as long as both you and the lodger have clear records/proof of payment.
LODGERS (Licencees/Excluded Occupiers)
A lodger (broadly) lives in the same property with their resident landlord, and shares facilities. Unlike tenants, lodgers have few rights.
The Housing Act 1988 provides definitions of 'Resident Landlord' and 'same property' (S31 & Schedule 1 (10).

I've written Lodging on the receipt.
