    2. Credit file searches leave a search footprint both in our records and at the credit reference agencies we search.

I would personally not interpret this as a definitive statement that they search all 3 CRAs.
I would take this as a warning that there could be a search on any CRAs that they do choose to use but it's not specific about whom they use at any point in time.

This type of wording is often used when they don't want to specify the details because that means they have to update it if they change CRAs so it they write it like this to cover any situation.

James seems to think they use Call Credit so I wonder whether he can tell us where his information comes from.

    A. I asked them!

The only data you can be sure is absolutely accurate is that what you put on yourself.

The onley way you can hold lenders, banks and credit card companies to account is to make sure they use the information you submit.

I've done the same this lunchtime, and got a very speedy reply...
    Hi

    Thanks for your email.

annualcreditreport does only use Callcredit. In our independent experience, based upon tens of thousands of credit files from all three agencies, Callcredit reports often provide more account information than their competitors, and always in greater depth, though this may of course vary on an individual basis. The reason for this is that they are in a unique position because customers of both of their competitors provide account history to their normal agency, with a copy to Callcredit, every month.

    I hope this helps.

    Many thanks

Subject: Which credit reference agency(ies) do you search?

    Good afternoon,

I'm interested in signing up for annual credit reports, but before I
do so I would like to know which credit reference agencies you search.

I'm a little confused because your T&C's state you search credit
reference agencies, ie plural implying more than one, whereas I've
heard that you ONLY search CallCredit files.

Please could you clarify your position.

    Kind regards
