Losing my patience with Clydesdale - is anyone else dealing with them?

We are FTB's waiting for a decision from clydesdale bank. We applied through a broker.

06/05 Offer Accepted
08/05 Mortgage application submitted with all documentation they could possibly want!
18/05 told all documentation was signed off and booked valuation for following day.
19/05 Valuation done on property
22/05 They received valuation report (all fine property is only 3 years old). Told I should hear in 6 working days regarding a decision.
28/05 told case is now in queue for final sign off that can take 7 working days.
03/06 asked for some more payslips for partner as the ones I had submitted previously were all for the same month! I was surprised at this though as they had previously told me that all my documentation had been signed off and I would have expected they would have checked documentation when signing off!
04/06 Told I should now hear within 2 weeks :(

I am seriously losing my patience with constantly revised time lines and lies!

I have even made a complaint to customer services and not heard back! It seems all departments are terrible at customer services. Had anyone had a similar experience with them?

Thanks.

Most people would have, they are awful, and slow.

If you chase down market leading deals you will often encounter slow service in the same way the most popular Euro Disney rides have bigger queues, and this is especially true if it's a small lender offering market leading products.

Personally I always factor service and time frames into the equation when choosing lenders.

I've applied on the 3rd of June and submitted everything I can possibly think of that they could need. They have done a credit check already and I am now in the queue waiting for underwriters to make a decision. They refuse to give a contact number/email address of the person dealing with your case and you have to go through customer service advisors every time. Looking at your experience, i guess they will come back and ask for more documents at a later stage which will delay things even further!

Keep us posted with how you get on.

Apparently my application is in the queue for final sign off (unless that is another lie) and I haven't even been credit checked yet which I find hard to believe given they have taken my money for valuation!!

Also I made a complaint and have now been told my complaint will be investigated within 8 weeks! What an absolute joke!

Just so you're aware, 8 weeks is the standard industry max turnaround. More than that and you can go to the ombudsman.

  • My sister has applied to Clydesdale, not too sure of dates but its been around 8 weeks, she went through a broker and was not getting straight answers, anyway the broker faxed her a copy of an offer early last week and told her that a hard copy is in the post to her and her solicitor, Saturday comes round and still no offer! I told her to call them up 1st Monday morning, which she did only to be told that the offer was being finalised today and will be post this evening!

    Hang in there!

Im about 3 months into this application process and its safe to say the wheels have well and truly fallen off at Clydesdale.

Ive been waiting 2 weeks for a offer to be posted., its agreed, just needs to be posted. my case is heavily escalated in numerous ways, takes days to get any response from them with no action.. no responsibility taken.. the process is exasperating, had enough. im dreading having a mortgage with them.. never again!:mad:

The broker says its MMR causing this and its worse with other lenders.. i dread to think how it could get worse.

I had my offer through from Halifax within two weeks of applying, so not all other lenders.
