Are Dysons worth it?

I have a cordless Dyson animal and while it's great for quick cleanup I still use my Miele cat & dog on the carpets regularly. No other vacuum cleaner I've had does as good a job getting hair out of the carpet!0

had 2 dysons in 10yrs, a dc11 and dc35.
both are brilliant. after replacing the filter housing in the dc11 its almost as good as new and abit over spec'd for cleaning the garage!
the dc35 we bought in jan 2011 for £200. steep but the 5yr guarantte is bullet proof. rang up last month as wosnt picking up well, they sent a new turbine head out for free! works ace again.
buy one and if ur disappointed i'd be shocked0 -
I had a Dyson for about 7 years before it failed. Like you, I baulked at the cost so tried an Electrolux and a Vax which both got relegated to the garage after a few months - both blocked up after 1 clean of the house. Reluctantly bit the bullet for another new Dyson and it really does do the job much better, imo. So for me, they have been worth the extra.0

Dysons Suck0

Yup. Go Miele/Sebo0

First time I've ever heard of Sebo. Must check it out.0

Definitely Sebo. Had ours about 15 years and still works perfectly. I recall lady in John Lewis doing a demo of a Dyson, which we intended buying, then showing us the Sebo. It was far superior. Cost more than the Dyson but it has proved to be worth it.0

Dysons clean very well but quality is pants. Its less than 5 years old and its falling apart.
I also have a 14 year old Miele and still works very well.
Miele without a doubt. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
