Is it worth building up a MASSIVE bill to leave Vodafone contract

Read it more carefully "Everyone on Vodafone" "their expensive contracts" "your expensive contracts".
'Me' and 'my' are the words I would have used if you were correct. So what you just said was no more worthwhile than the other stuff you have said. You just made yourself look ....0 -
Tronator - I was referring to the Vodafone situation and their strategy for dealing with their recently announced price rises. Worth a google if you haven't heard.0

Go read your contract, Geoff.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0

Redcard - you aren't doing yourself many favours...
The answer wouldn't be in the contract as the question refers to Vodafone's strategy of dealing with customers who are disadvantaged by their recent price rises.
You have lost this one pal, give up.0 -
Just been chatting to someone at Vodafone who knows what they are talking about (two initial people I spoke to knew about as much as redcard). Apparently May was the final month they took into account so it would have been a good idea in May but isn't now as June isn't counted. Anyone who did it in May - well played.0

I am against long term service contracts with a bundled handset. I believe that the norm should be to buy the goods and service separately as happens in many other countries. I have little sympathy with those who sign up for long term contracts instead of saving up for a phone and signing up for a SIM-only contract.
However, I also despise the price increases imposed by some networks upon those who have signed up to a long contract. If the networks aren't prepared to honour the terms of the long contract until its minimum term has finished, then they shouldn't offer these long contracts in the first place. Therefore I like the OP's approach which effectively penalises the networks for failing to honour the terms of the long contract. I don't think the OP is one of those I describe in my first paragraph but someone who has found a way to make the networks' unreasonable price hikes backfire on them.0 -
Thanks NFH - you have restored my faith in these boards.0

Your outside allowance usage is not a price rise.
It's like saying my supermarket increased the prices by 100% because I bought more this week and ended up with a bill double the last week's.0 -

You can only leave your Vodafone contract if Vodafone sent you a text message/contacted you giving the option.
To be eligible to have been contacted your last 3 bills must have been 10% over the contract price due to usage outside the allowance.
Therefore the OP's method is not going to work and I strongly recommend no one take the advice here as you'll have a high bill and still not be able to cancel. This page applies only to people who received a text from us directing them here. You have the right to cancel only if you received such a message directly from us.

Vodafone are still able to raise prices outside the monthly allowance and get away with it. As are all networks.0
