I'm doing my headless chicken impression. Work is in at the deep end, and I'm working up to and including Christmas Eve. So this weekend has been finishing the shopping as I left it too late to do online. It took forever as I didn't know what I wanted and the shops didn't have it anyway. I then realised I'd not written any Christmas cards, I'm out on Tuesday night (see, I do have a social life!) and I have the prezzies to wrap, a case to pack and the house to clean before departing for family visiting straight after work on Weds.

Considering I spent 4 months unemployed you'd think I'd have been a tad more organised at this point.

    How was the jewellery workshop?

SDW, thank you for that. I showed it to WaSp and he said that is how he feels living with me and told me he loved me. That was lovely for me to hear because when I was very ill a long time ago I asked him how he felt about his life and he said disappointed which ripped me apart. After he read that I asked if he was still disappointed and he said no, he feels like that.

Aw, whitewing. Cuddle up with DD for a while and read a children's book and take it easy.

We have the same flooring, JM! Mine looks just like that and I love it!

The reindeer photo's are wonderful, Pyxis! I shall be taking lots tomorrow!

Almost reindeer day and we have added a pre-reindeer excursion to Milliefleur for a surprise! Once I am out I may as well try and do everything and seeing Milliefleur first means I get a break indoors and cuddled a lot for a while.

Be kind to yourself, Whitewing! Lots of hot or cold drinks, and flop!

Someone I met today told me that she was in a well-known department store recently, and the twenty-something shop assistant whom she asked for help, honestly, honestly did not know what blankets were.
    :(
A duvet? she asked. No. A throw? No.
The idea of a blanket protected by a sheet was completely unfathomable.
    Interesting!
I got one of my blankets from either poundstretcher or B&M so maybe try there?

The other i got at a festival.

I have two double bed sized ones my mum crotchet-ed for me! One is pastal colours and the other is bright colours. They are the warmest cosiest blankets ever :D

  • How dare people not know what blankets are, that is a personal insult, that is! I am taking my new hedgehog blanket that Sir P gave me in my lovely parcel with me tomorrow!

Awww, WaS - give WaSp a cuddle from me, as well. That's a lovely thing to say :)

Soooo glad you are going to see Millefleur!

Hope you're feeling more yourself, WW xx

Yes, I really love the flooring. It is solid all the way through (although I now know, from buying for work, that actually a good thick veneer is just as good cos you can only sand down to the tongue and groove bit). I think it's been layed beautifully. Only one thing wrong - there is an extra step up to the kitchen, and it's been done so carefully you can't actually see it when you are coming down. I've missed it once badly so far, but Mr JM had a really bad fall this afternoon. He doesn't seem to have broken anything, but I fear there will be some bad bruises :(

The Grand Plan is that we are meant to be moving out of here today. In fact I doubt every single thing will be out, but WE will be! Back to our own bed hurrah! There is thick dust everywhere, though, even though we had a special cleaner in yesterday and the kitchen and bedroom were screened off. Ah well! We're getting there gradually, and I shall have tomorrow off work.

:rotfl: And by the way - oi! We all want to see a photo of that blanket! :D xxx
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
  • Poor Mr JM, give him a hug from me, please! How lovely to be in your own bed for Christmas, I am so happy for you both!

I shall take a blanket photo while taking numerous reindeer photo's tomorrow! We have two camera's charged!

  • Hahahahahaha! Is that as a reindeer butts me and sends me flying across the field?

I have to confess that although I'll be fine once it starts initially asking for the elf who will be my guide and explaining who I am and what I am there for is a tad embarrassing. I am sure I will manage it, though. Also no matter how embarrassed I am, WaSp will always be more so!
