Random bit of reindeer pub quiz type information - in Norway only the Sami people can legally own reindeer. So when I stayed at an ice hotel, the on-site reindeer were rented by the non-Sami owners for the duration of the season. Wonder what Santa's lineage is?

  • Awwww. Do the jellyfish look a bit like adiposes? (adipee?)

  • WaS - I know exactly what you mean I bought one for a relative in the summer who is at home a lot due to ill health. She loves it!

I hope you enjoy the jellyfish too and your second birthday, how many days are you going to celebrate for? Many I hope! :)

    Hope MiL is doing well.

Well, we'll have to go on until AT LEAST Monday, as WaS's parcel will presumably arrive then :D

PS Just googled jellyfish and they look GORGEOUS! xxxx

  • I would love my own reindeer, elsien!

I agree with celebrating until Monday especially as MIL might be sent home then, so double celebration! I am ridiculously excited about this parcel! Besides, I haven't managed any birthday cake yet!

My adipose is a little errr, plump JM. She might sink if I try to float her in the tank!

Aw, what a thoughtful gift, oldestgnome! I love my jellyfish, they are so relaxing to watch and I have been staring at them ever since WaSp set the tank up.

Is this your jellyfish tank, WaS? If so, it looks good! Never seen one before! How kind of MiL to get it for you! I wonder how she managed it if she can barely see? :A

    I love

  • Almost exactly the same but a wider tank! The jellyfish are identical but I have 3! MIL's sister pops down from Yorkshire every other weekend (85 and still managing to get from Yorkshire to Hertfordshire alone!) and then she takes her shopping. They do all of their gift shopping together then and my present was picked up on her last visit. I would imagine it was a joint effort but MIL loves colourful things because colour is the only thing that stands out for her now out of the side of her eyes so I can see why she bought this. They are planning Christmas shopping on the next trip, MIL's health permitting.

You know I was out today at a Christmas Fair and there was Santa in his sleigh, pulled by reindeer? Well, I managed to take a few photos, but it was rapidly darkening and the crowds made it difficult. The photos aren't very good, but it'll give you an idea, WaS! The best photo only shows the rear end of four following reindeer, but two of them are 'babies', well, youngsters!

These were the two pulling the sleigh, but are a bit blurred. The ones I took of the sleigh were very blurred as I was too close!
