Nokia N95 battery life

Just wondering about the battery life of this phone? Can anyone give me some sort of idea from experience or from people they know/what they have heard? I have taken a look at a few threads here and its fairly vague (e.g. life could be better but firmware and turning off 3g fixes this) and the official stats having it lasting on standby from 1(!) to 8 days.

I have a Samsung D900 that lasts two days max, and the reason for getting another phone would be for better battery life. So I am definitely interested in seeing the answers to this.

    I disagree.

When I got the phone, I resisted temptation to play with it, and instead put it to charge for 24hrs. I know that this is not necessary, but I did anyway.

Since then, I have played with the web browsing, had the BT to connect to a headset and synch with the pc, and even made a few calls - it is a phone after all

The battery lasted 2 days when I first played around.
Since then, I have not used so many of the functions, and I am on day 3, I will probably put it to charge overnight.

If it lasts only one day, then perhaps you are using most of the functions on the phone / camera / GPS.

I use these facilities when required, and have not had the need to charge it constantly.

Agree with Meeten, the less functions you use, the longer the battery life. Use it for phone only and you get 3-4 days without recharge. Use the WLAN and you get 1-2 hours. People don't appreciate the facts that this phone is packed with functions that compete for your attention.

Thanks a lot. I'm getting mine on Vodafone and was a bit worried about the potential battery life, since Vodafone seemed to drain one of my older phones from new a lot faster than the same one on Orange as new.

Turn off all unnecessary drains such as WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth and it should last a couple of days under normal use.

If you plan to use GPS in the car, make sure you have it plugged into a charger. I've never managed more than 2 1/4 hours from full when GPS is on.
