It is probable that I shouldn't be mentioning this here

So presumably you just install updates relevant to XP, IE and any Net frameworks you have and ignore updates for Pos 09?

Dunno don't use XP, so I didn't take much notice. I might be interested when Micro$ end support for Windows 7, because theres no way I'm moving to Windows 8.

I know how to use task manager. Would a keylogger show in the Applications list or would I have to look in the list of processes and if so what should I look for?

A keylogger would only show in the processes. Though there are different keyloggers does anyone have a list what to look out for ??

Bearing in mind that it can be as simple as a keyboard change, nothing I can suggest.

It was done on The Real Hustle before now.
