Lost Proprety at Theme Park

I lost an almost brand new phone with a value of over 500 pounds on one of the rides during a visit. I reported it to customer relations as requested, left my details on the form they requested and spoke to customer relations about the situation.
I knew which ride it was lost on and could see it on GPS tracking via another phone. The gps tracking app is even able to make the phone loudly beep and flash to assist in recovery and i explained this to customer services, and they mentioned that a member of staff would be able to call me on another number to so i could activate the beeping to assist recovery once the park was closed. Unfortunately they didn't call.
If they had called the phone would have been really easy to recover, so i want to know if I have any redress against the park for not trying to help recover the phone effectively. It was also a day the park was trialing a new e-queueing system that asked you to present your smart phone each time you got on a reserved ride (to skip the normal queue). Unfortuatnely this ironically is the only reason I bothered taking my phone into the park!
Any advice would be appreciated.:)

I'd say no redress at all
Without sounding harsh, you lost your phone and as gutting as that is they are under no obligation to help you look for it.
Was it insured?0 -

Couldn't you have tracked it yourself instead? Seems like the logical course of action to take instead o leaving it in the hands of a theme park customer support who comprise of people who do a menial job day in day out and just want to get out as soon as they can as opposed to looking 4 your phone.....Unfortunately they didn't call.

MAYBE. I wouldn't use the term "redress" but possibly "goodwill" and usually they'd give you a free day there (but that seems quite inappropriate given what happened so im not sure what they'd offer). Worth asking the question I guess... There is almost zero chance they will replace the phone or the value and I don't blame them, 1. Your responsibility to look after goods and 2. How do they know it was worth 500 quid?It was also a day the park was trialing a new e-queueing system that asked you to present your smart phone each time you got on a reserved ride (to skip the normal queue). 1. The word trial suggests that the smart phone thing may have been an optional feature and you were under no obligation to bring a phone.
2. You took a 500 pound phone to a theme park? Knowing that you'll spend a lot of time walking around, on rides, poor security if you leave it with someone and maybe even some wet rides. Seems a bit silly
And of course the theme park didn't force you to take the phone along. So I mean what realistically do you expect as an outcome here??0 -

Sounds like it was lost on a ride and probably landed in the enclosed bits beneath the ride0

He knew which ride he had lost it on, but couldn't retrieve it himself. They have fences enclosing rides for a reason. I recall a guy losing his baseball cap on a ride at Great America, San Jose. He got his friend to boost him over the fence so he could pick it up, got kicked in the head as the ride came back round and was killed. The park aren't going to close a ride whilst people wander round the enclosure listening for it to beep, so the OPs only option was to wait for the park to close so that they could then search for it. One of the 'menial' park workers will have found it and kept it.0 -

Ah right ok that is a legit thing, the possibility of it coming out during the ride and landing somewhee. .... In which case I ind it funny how he can spend 500 quid on a phone but isn't prepared to spend 20 quid on a zippable coat....0 -
Despite my warnings, my husband tucked his very expensive and very new prescription glasses into the neck of his t-shirt, just before going on a rollercoaster.
Of course, they fell out and one of the lenses cracked. I did think of claiming from the amusement park for his losses, they really should display signs on all of their rides. Something along the lines of ....
"STUPID PEOPLE ARE BARRED FROM USING THIS RIDE"
(On the plus side, the drive home with him and his broken glasses was way scarier than the rollercoaster. I resolved there and then to learn to drive. Which I did!)

Surely you will know if they have received it using the tracking (presume its an iphone with the find iphone app installed on it, if so you will know if it has moved from where you originally lost it) If they have ventured in and found it then call up and ask for it backSlimming World Member - Started 05/02/150

Common sense would dictate that as a grown up, you have to look after your own things and not rely on others to do this simple task.
Next time don't leave it in an unzipped pocket on a ride - rather a moronic move.0
