Asking store manager to cancel

I have received a charge from MET for overstaying my welcome in a McDonalds car park in Birmingham - before I follow the appeals process is it worth approaching the 'restaurant' manager to see if they can cancel it.
I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis and was struggling to continue driving on that day - I visited the restaurant as a stop over while my meds kicked in and I was able to continue. I was a genuine customer making several purchases whilst there.
I'm sure it's all here somewhere but I can't find ant recommendations???
Advice please
Many thanks

It is worth asking, but don't let it delay the appeal. Also, if the manager says he will don't consider the ticket cancelled until you have some sort of written confirmation.0

Forum assisted appeals at POPLA have a 100% success rate so don't lose any sleep over this.
I have beaten Met at POPLA and have seen it done several times over the last week or so.
I would appeal to MET, get your POPLA code and cost them some money. Chances are that they will not even contest it at POPLA.The word "gullible" isn't in the dictionaryTickets: 19 [cancelled: 18, paid: 0, pending: 1]

I did overstay by half hour do you think I stand much chance?0

And the complaints thread you want is 'Successful complaints about PPCs' with tons of linked examples to copy. It's one of Crabman's 'parking forum stickies' collated in a thread near the top. Complaining to McDonalds is just a matter of complaining in person to the Manager (NOT HEAD OFFICE).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This may also mean that you are disabled for the purposes of the Equality Act, as such businesses have to make reasonable adjustments, such as allowing you extra time etc. Might be worth throwing this into the conversation with the manager.0 -
'rheumatoid arthritis' = definitely is a disability under the EA, yes.
The driver was legally allowed more time as a 'reasonable adjustment' and the OP should add that (but without saying I).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I am not registered as disabled
There is no such thing as 'registered disabled'. There are eligibility criteria which Councils use to establish whether someone is entitled to a blue badge, but blue badges are irrelevant on private land.
The Equality Act defines being disabled as having a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long term negative effect on your ability to do day to day activities. Arthritis satisfies this description.
There is no requirement for any sort of 'registration', whether you satisfy a Council definition or whether you want to apply for a blue bade etc makes no difference, for the purposes of the Equality Act you can class yourself as disabled.0 -

The Equality Act doesn't mention blue badges or any kind of register, trust us we know what we are talking about. Now make those complaints and don't forget to appeal this stupid charge, they are easily beaten. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.
