Credit after CCJ expires.

Hi All,
I have an unsatisfied CCJ on my credit report which is due to expire in November this year when the 6 year period is up. I have been wanting a new car for a while now but have been scared to apply for any form of credit in fear of being rejected for the active CCJ.
I would like to know that when the CCJ drops off in November am I able to apply for something in theory the next day or should I wait a month or so?
I earn between £35-£40k per year and would be looking for credit of around £10k. Would I have a better chance of being accepted with a bank or by a finance company when the CCJ drops off?
I have no other bad credit on my file, I am using 1% of my avalailable credit and have no accounts that are in default or have any missed payments on.
I am using my credit card just for fuel once a month only and paying it off each month in full. I have direct debits coming out for my Gas and mobile phone, both of which are on my credit report.
I dont have any credit checks in my name within the last 12 months and am on the electoral roll.
I know that I can still be chased for the outstanding account but if so then can the CCJ then be re-applied? If it is re-aaplied then would I get a month to pay it off or is that only for the original CCJ?
Thanks in advace for any replies and advice.

If the lender searches experian or callcredit then the day after the 6 year anniversary they would not see any evidence that you ever had a CCJ. If they happen to search equifax it can sometimes take a couple of weeks after the 6year point before the CCJ drops off.Would I have a better chance of being accepted with a bank or by a finance company when the CCJ drops off?
Secured car finance is usually slightly easier to get than a bank loan.I know that I can still be chased for the outstanding account but if so then can the CCJ then be re-applied? Would it not be possible to morally pay off the CCJ?0

You'd think so wouldn't you if the OP was only using 1% of available credit.
But, sadly, morals don't come into a lot of peoples reasoning.0 -
I recently got car finance with an active CCJ on my credit file, due to come off next year. Wasn't actually aware it was on there, currently going through the process of paying/disputing with the creditor.
I was under the impression that the creditor can actually go to the courts again and re-apply the CCJ so it will be on your file for another 6 years (although apparently this never happens) so prob best just to pay it.0 -

Why would the OP bother? Its going to disappear anyway in four or five months.
As for doing the ethically right thing, who bothers these days. Practically no-one.
And don't tell me you'd pay the debt off to "do the right thing", if it would disappear in a few months anyway. Human nature sees people trying to get something for nothing.
I wouldn't pay it, put it that way.0 -

You are correct, but as this particular finance company are known for being scum of the earth with their persistent charges and stacking all the odds in their favour I think I'll hold out.
I have however learnt my lesson, and will not be getting into this situation again.
Thanks for your input though.0 -

Also was it with a main dealer?0 -

I got a car at the trade centre in wales, financed through Blackhorse. Spoke to them over the phone first and they approved £6000, when I turned up the next day though they said I could have "as much as I want". I bought a car for £8k in the end, the APR is around 11.5%. Not particularly cheap but they allow overpayments or early settlement which I plan to do, and hopefully bring the overall cost down.0 -

A creditor can go back to court to try to get permission to enforce the debt after a 6year period has elapsed, but even if this was granted the CCJ would not reappear on the debtor's credit file.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
