asking on behalf of a friend.
they are going to legoland on a friday and will be driving down from bristol area they want to then book a hotel somewhere in between legoland and london so they can spend the Saturday in London (big ben area).
they dont want to drive into any of the congestion zones and so ideally somewhere near a train that they can jump on into London.
they dont want a 'rough' area although not sure what they mean by that lol.
any help would be greatly appreciated

They could look for a hotel in Windsor or nearby areas as there are direct trains from Windsor to London Waterloo which is near the London Eye, Big Ben, Houses Of Parlimament etc. They could check out budget hotels like Premier Inn and Travelodge for their dates and check which ones are near tube/train stations. Checking Tripadvisor to see if the hotel and area is one they would like to stay in.
What date are they planning on going to Legoland?0 -
I think they have said 27/06 (maybe wrong but sure thats the date)
They have had a look around but as they are not from the area have no idea what the places are like.
They did look at hounslow but was told it was not a very nice place. Basically they want somewhere that they feel safe and that they and the kids would be ok walking down the streets at night.
They did want to book slough but could not find anything available for the date.

Dd they check the Holiday Inn Express next to Slough station? It's mainly a business hotel so should have availability on a weekend. Has direct trains to Windsor or Paddington.0

the Holiday Inn at slough is coming up really expensive for the date.
Is there anyone on here actually from London/Windsor etc?
So far they've looked at Camberely, Hounslow, High Wycombe, Ealing, Twickenham, Woking but according to google search all the areas are rough and have gangs of 'chavs' hanging around causing trouble or just generally a really rough unsafe place.Wins 2014 - ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVYXYZ

You could try the Travelodge in Staines. Direct trains from Staines to Windsor take 15 mins and from Staines to London Waterloo take 30 mins, 45 mins, or nearly an hour depending on which one you get.
I live in Staines and have always found it safe and am happy to walk around there. Very late on Friday and Saturday nights the town centre is heaving with people as there are a lot of pubs etc, but it's more noisy than dangerous.
The Travelodge is on a retail park a little back from the main centre and a 5-minute walk from the station.0 -
What is this based on? If you look at local papers everywhere will have instances of drunkenness or other problems, but are perfectly fine apart from throwing out time on Saturday nights. It is probably be the same in your home town but I imagine you don't go around in a permanent state of fear!So far they've looked at Camberely, Hounslow, High Wycombe, Ealing, Twickenham, Woking but according to google search all the areas are rough and have gangs of 'chavs' hanging around causing trouble or just generally a really rough unsafe place.0 -

As mentioned it's based on google search, they typed in what's it like to live in *name of place* and that is what came up. My home town? I live in a little village that does not even have a pub...in fact not even a shop so it's probably a hell of a lot different lolWins 2014 - ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVYXYZ
