  • Thanks Growurown :) They're obviously not that precious as nobody wants them :rotfl: I was quite clearly being stupid. This morning they are an opportunity to cement my new start...If only someone would buy the damn things ;)

So sorry about the car, I hope it does turn out to be cheaply fixable. Good luck with the calls. Do you think this is a toddler-esque tantrum because they want more? Perhaps they have a remedy to grow money? If they do please let us all know :)

    Morning all,

Sadly my triumphant return was a bit of a wash out as by the time I walked there and climbed the stairs to the entrance I was in quite a lot of pain and my boss told me that the job is so intensive that I wouldn't be able to do it and he'd rater I was to stay off until I can at least sit down which I can understand... But, he is setting up a call with HR to discuss options and said that there may be something else I can do in the meantime but for now I'm back to square one :(

To cap that off, I got the results of my MRI and sure enough there is a healed, damaged and rehealed fracture and one of my discs has desiccated (dried up) which could explain the pain when I do any load bearing activity as there is no cushion so I'm going to be referred to a specialist which could take a looooong time.

    Dear MB,

I work in occy health. Your employer MUST make reasonable adjustments to your duties under the Equality Act 2010. Your workstation and chair should be ergonomically assessed and if you need a brand new spanking expensive chair to keep you comfortable your employer has to fork out for it. HR must also keep in mind (with your agreement) for you to be redeployed to another department where you feel more comfortable. The Equality Act is your friend. If you have any issues with HR, don't hesitate to drop me a line as I know what your rights are!

Now go and have a lie down and have an ice-cream.

He y'all  just wanted to pop in and see how everyone is doing. Not been on much of late (although I do admit to the occasional lurk...). Work's busy (aka stressy) and I'm not fairing well with this heat. My office is unbearable (even with two fans running), so by the time I get home I just feel like melting into a puddle and little else.

Good to see some new names and nice that some oldies are keeping the forum active :D

MB of G - sorry to hear that your medical issues are being so persistent, I do hope your employer finds a way to make it work for you -or offers the redundancy option. I guess there is no way you could work from home?

Our DMP is plodding along, no major upsets at the moment. Am waiting to see if my next Noddle update shows a lovely 'D' against Halifax. Bcard refunded the interest charges they put on the last statements (x2) but no default letters as yet. Another creditor has passed our account onto a DCA, who are happy with the arrangement (so that's two so far and I guess more to follow).

My sister is due her next set of operations in August to remove tumours from her liver, so that's taking my focus. If all goes well though she should get the all clear soon after and it's then a case of staying on medication and having 6-monthly check-ups. It's a type of 'C' that you can never really say your in remission from because its so unpredictable!

On a brighter note I am getting interest in my jewellery making, so benefitting from a very modest bit of extra cash here and there (and we know every little helps).

Will try and keep up with the forum and check-in more frequently.

    Until then - cheerio :)

The car is the bane of my life, but at least I have the money put by for it now I have been putting a bit extra away. As to the creditors - pah! They can lump it. Step Change said I couldn't keep on making one off reduced payments every time the car throws a wobbly. They suggested that (after I'd made several reduced payments in a short space of time) it would be better to reduce my overall monthly payment so the money was available when needed. I saw the sense in that even though it has extended my DFD by a couple of months.

I will call them and explain and I expect it will be a case of resending the soa, even though Step Change did this when the payments went down. So yes I reckon they are having a tantrum and want to punish me:rotfl::rotfl:

Sorry to hear about the car GUO. Glad there's a plan in place though. Reducing shows them you are still in financial difficulty though so hopefully less chance of interest being reintroduced.

    Hi everyone!

Thanks for the kind words (and I'll keep you in mind Fuzzy ;)), I'm feeling a bit down at the moment as my fiendish plans have bee foiled but give it a day or two and a few nights sleep and I'll be ok :) it could after all be a lot worse...

In the meantime, here is a pic of Puzz which I snapped while she wasn't looking... Happy birthday Puzz! xxx

  • Happy Birthday Puzzcat. Hello Everyone

I've been panicking again. I'm having visions of being carted off to jail. I know it won't happen really (all this reading is working) but my imagination is working overtime today. I've been finding it really hard to concentrate at work. Yesterday my heart was in my mouth as my bank rang me at work. I was panicking like crazy, thinking they must have been psychic as I haven't defaulted with them or sent out my letters yet but it turned out to be something completely different regarding something I asked them about and then forgotten about :rotfl:

If I carry on like this I will be in a straight jacket soon :p

I'm feeling a bit better this evening. Reading all your posts cheers me up.

Glad the posts have helped calm you. I can categorically state that you are NOT going to prison. There are no workhouses anymore either ;) You aren't going to prison for two simple reasons: 1. There's no room and 2. The country can't afford to keep you there ;)

Deep breaths and go make yourself a cuppa. Please believe me that we've all felt like this but in a few weeks you will find a complete turn around. Keep reading. If you look at the start of this thread you'll see me stressing about a double car insurance payment, you'll see some posters £1,000s behind where they are now and you'll see Fuzzy having the exact same panic. We're all still chipping away at our debts. Fuzzy is now offering fantastic advice to new posters and we're all eagerly awaiting HH's debt freedom announcement :D

Now make that cuppa and pat yourself on the back. You are starting a new phase of your life. You are taking control. The world is your lobster :)
