Bit random but I see some of you have a 'DMP Mutual Support' member number in your signatures - do these still exist?

    Tx

PS. pm ianmak he used to give out the numbers, although he hasn't been on the forum since March.

Hi there, thought I'd join you. I have had a DMP with Payplan for over ten years now. I have paid back around £8,500 and have around £3,500 to go. I have a cashminder account with the Co-op bank which I love and have had since the start of the plan. It's been great not having an overdraft and all the associated charges and interest etc.
  • I love Coop too Bananas777, their customer service is brilliant!

Halifax were always my worst creditor to deal with and the only one not to stop all interest and charges. I had four accounts with them, paid off three only one to go now.

    3 down, one to go....getting there :j

I think they are going to default me.....I hope ....

I haven't been here before. The ten years I've been in the plan seem to have flown Payplan have been fab as is the Co-op bank. The best thing I find is if i go over my limit instead of putting on loads of bank charges and interest, the Co-op doesn't. It just declines the purchase or it goes over a little bit but there's not a charge. Which helps. They don't send you tons of junk mail either which RBS and Lloyds used to. Just a simple statement. The online banking is easy to use for bank transfers, standing orders and direct debits etc. I don't miss having an overdraft or credit cards. With me, the large free overdraft given to me by RBS at 17 and a student, was turned into a graduate overdraft then when I had long term sickness, I had to take the plan out as was swamped with credit card payments and graduate loan overdraft etc. The DMP was a Godsend, along with the Cashminder account from the Co-op. I was only paying around £15 a month for a while, several years but now it's gone up to around £30 as I get a new benefit PIP so have a bit extra. I wish everyone good luck with their DMP some are just starting out so thought it might be of interest to see someone nearly finished. I have heard Payplan and Stepchange are good, try to avoid companies which charge. Another thing, I recently checked my credit rating with Experian and it was good. I suppose since the defaults remain for 6 years with me that time is passed now. Last week Payplan said I could consider a Debt Relief Order for the remaining amount but I think I will continue with it now I've got nearly to the end of it.

I just realized when checking through my report on Noddle that Everyday Loans are still charging me interest on my loan (balance is going up each month)

This is despite them accepting the DMP back in Jan/Feb time and they even send me a letter recently to say they have agreed to the lower payments for another six months!

I've sent them the letter that TTFTM posted recently, and have asked them to remove interest charged since first informing them of the DMP. Hopefully they will throw their toys out of the pram and default me at the same time!...

Edit: Everyday Loans had sent me an annual statement a month or two back but it didn't break down which months had interest applied - they just gave a single figure at the bottom - so i hadn't realised they were still charging after DMP had started. Very sneaky!

I woke up and was close to tears in the middle of the night last night and I haven't even started the DMP yet. It might sound silly but I feel so incredibly guilty to my bank! (or old bank I should say as in the middle of getting a new account with a new one).

I have been with them for over 15 years. They are our biggest creditor by a long way and I feel so sad and guilty that I have messed up. I keep thinking how angry they are going to be and how I have let them down.

I'm back to feeling really depressed.....Halifax rejected 6 month review and according to Stepchange they queried budget but nothing has changed. When I approached Halifax they said last documents received was December 2014.....feeling really stressed and worried now.....didn't sleep a wink last night!

    No idea what's going on....
