Great news Puzz!! How many complaint letters did it take in the end?

They pretty much confirmed what I need to do to get a default and that starts next month. For those that didn't see my earlier post you have to withhold payment for up to 6 months. Still send a token one though £5 in my case so it doesn't trigger non-payments fees.

Argos Store Card, and Lloyds Loan are the only two not showing now for me on their online systems. How did I know that loan would be one that dragged it's heels! On well, they might only be getting a quid next month.

And yes, if those having joy with Barclaycard could provide as much detail as possible (shameless request to be spoon fed!) that would be great! :D

I would love to say I have forced their hand.. but all I have done is pay my dmp payment every month for the last 17 months... I haven't written and complained as I didn't want to highlight the fact that I have yet to be charged any interest despite being over the 1% payment threshold.. I did speak to them once about ap/default and was just told that ap was better for my credit file and they don't default... I shall just wait now and see if it actually makes a big D appearance on my credit file..

I really hope that you get defaulted by BC Puzzcat;)

Out of interest I have just gone back through my BC folder and I had several default notices and letters from Mercers on behalf of BC saying that they would be dealing with my debt going forward. That was back in December 2010 but since then I have heard nothing more from Mercers and I receive monthly statements from BC and my credit file is updated with AP markers?

I believe that Mercers is their in-house debt collection team so maybe they changed their minds?

  • Hi there. Just got my lightbulb moment today, I've been reading this thread and would like to know if the bc you are referring to is barclaycard, me and oh have 9 cards between us but the biggest one is my barclaycard at£14.000. I hope this isn't going to be the worst one to deal with "if" we end up goin down the dmp route.
