Have seen that payments are showing against my Lloyds CC, and OD, and against my CapitalOne CC today! The Lloyds Loan and other 6 creditors, nothing yet but it is only 25th. Oddly, CapitalOne have marked the paymen as of 23rd. Squeeky bum time waiting to see if SC made the payments correctly and indeed the creditors not ballsing up.
    All progress though
LBM October 2014  DMP with StepChange as of March 2015
Debt at Start of DMP 01/03/15: [STRIKE]£36,282.69[/STRIKE]
    Debt Now: £33,993.48 :j
  • Hi Neil,

Yes I noticed the same last month. A couple I think had date of 24th, one or two appeared as payments on 25th but most took a couple of days to appear through to about 27th.

Sainsbury CC claimed they didn't get their payment until around the 3rd! (I reckon that one got lost in the inter-departmental paper shuffle!)

Weirdly, Wonga appeared to apply my stepchange payment twice last month. The payment value was only just over £10, but an extra tenner of the loan is very welcome and hopefully that will continue again and not be a one off! :D

Can anyone tell me what address I should use for complaints dept for Lloyds CC? There are so many different PO box addresses, I don't want it floating round in circles for ever

Your lucky you missed it Sazzie.. this is the link to the thoughts of us who didn't...They meant to only trial it with some users but changed it for everyone by mistake...

Thanks, 24 pages of not very popular! Most worried about comments saying the functionality and navigation is poor, but perhaps it's just going to be a matter of getting used to it. Hopefully the real trial will make substantial improvements.
Many thanks Ellie and Meatload1981, its really nice to know at such a worrying time there are people out there that understand. I've felt so silly at getting so much into debt but not really having anything to show for it. It's been so stressful juggling Peter to pay Paul.

I realise that a DMP is a big step to take and will mean I'll be paying off my debts for the next 5 years but I look forward to being able to see them go down rather than dreading my statements each month and the rate they go up. I know it would have taken me a lot longer to pay them off if I hadn't have taken this step.

When you don't want to tell family and friends about these things it's really good to know there are other people out there to talk to.

    Betty xx

The support on this thread rates as 5star, with both practical advice and emotional support. I hope you are feeling less alone, I am another who due to a change in circs suddenly couldn't afford to keep up the minimum payments, but in reality for me it had been coming for a while, the changed circs just speeded it up, so the DMP was my silver lining, (finding MSE was the gold lining ).

If you can find someone outside the virtual world to share all this with, you might find it helpful, and you'll probably be surprised how many people have been in this situation (my ex-boss once shared with me that they had been on DMP for 15 years). But we are here if you are not ready to come out of the closet:eek: we are all friends here.

    Hi Ploppy,

They should be able to reverse the interest and charges for you. I had the same a couple of months back where they thought I was starting the Stepchange payments a month earlier than reality so 'agreement broken' when they only got £1. Got it sorted after a quick phone call then watched Internet Banking like a hawk to make sure it was actioned.

They have to send a leaflet with each Arrears and Default letter. Sometimes you will get a arrears leaflet, then a default leaflet, then the same arrears leaflet again all from the same company!

I had quite a collection which have now been recycled :D

    Squiz

Yeah the how to get help leaflet gets a bit old doesn't it, but we have to remember there are about 5million people out there in some sort of financial difficulty and not everyone has found their way here yet:D

Contacted MBNA this week to explain why the agreed DMP payment was not being met, had deliberately left it til payment week, so the explanation arrived at the same time as the payment. Had sent them an online message, they called me and left a message and I called back, spent 20 mins explaining that I was on a DMP, still, and payment had to change temporarily, and I was still with SC, and normal service would be resumed as soon as I could get back to working out of hours, (which boosts my income to a level where I can make a DMP payment and not just a token) and the nice lady kept telling me not to worry about a default - and didn't seem to get that on a DMP you want a default and a DcA, in the end I said I'd ring them back next month, after that I couldn't face calling the rest, so that's a pleasure I'll save for tomorrow night.

 Just logged on to check balances on all accounts - as SC payment should be showing today. MBNA have, in their wisdom added 2 x £12 fees and almost £300 in interest

I've sent a message through the online message system pointing out they agreed to freeze fees and charges and please could they reverse these erroneous transactions on my account:p

Edit: I am not updating my signature until I have sorted out this issue because I want to see the number go down to where I expect to :)

Sazzie this is sooooo frustrating for you - especially with everything you have been dealing with in your life.

As has been said many times before, you are an amazing lady and you will persevere and win the current MBNA battle (and any others you have to face this week);)

As Levi said on his diary thread, yesterday was Hump Day - just about sums up your day I think;) Someone else asked Levi what Hump Day was and he said

wow what a load of energy there is on here... well done Puzz! welcome newbies and great advice about the lending code.

I have finished sulking about my latest bruising interaction with the most hellish of creditors and am now ready to pick up my dfw battle gear and get moving on. (sulking occasionally is an important part of getting debt free... right???)
