Barclay's up to their shenanigans again then. Coming up to 1st year review, got a letter stating they have asked Stepchange for new info and have got no reply. Therefore they can only assume they are no longer acting on our behalf. Jokers. Scanned letter and forwarded to Stephchange as can't be bothered even ringing them. Will chase before the deadline they quoted for reinstating interest.
I'm so tempted to £1 both our Barclaycards for 6 months just to get them to a DCA because they are the only company to give any sort of grief. We are lucky it's only a little interest on Mrs BBs card, mine is still 0% but judging by this letter they are hoping to worm out of that it would seem.0 -

The prob is, as per Puzzcat's replies to my posts up the page, and SC not allowing you to lower payments to certain creditors. I've queried being creative in getting them to just drop BC from the plan down the line if I need to even if it means pretending that debit is paid up, or perhaps we can leave step change and go self managed, screw over BC and get that debt passed to DCA, then re-join stepchange saying woops, sorry, I'm not doing so good self managed. A lot of faffing, but you get out what you put in I'm guessing.LBM October 2014  DMP with StepChange as of March 2015

I will just go self managed at this point.
Just had a missed call on my mobile and house from an 0800 number, I never answer them and always look them up. Guess Who? Barclaycard !! By far the worst of any of our creditors, including some of the mickey mouse cards.0 -

Hi folks - Sazzie recommended I join you as I'm just about to begin the journey to debt freedom via a DMP. I was a member of the very first DMP group back in 2007 and shamefully find myself back here again. But this time there will be no more credit for me ... my mantra will be aiming to be debt free but not complacent. Look forward to sharing the journey.
Hi Dixi,
And welcome...I did read your other thread and saw that sazzie had directed you back here. Your story though sad is also very inspiring and I'm sure we can all learn from each other. I look forward to sharing your journey.

Cheers Puzz, I might answer the next one then. I've scanned the letter and posted up to my SC account, they normally take a week to answer them but that should sort it.0 -
If a creditor freezes interest then issues a full default, can they re introduce interest at a later date or does the default prevent this? Like wise, if they set interest to a value, say 5% can the default you and keep the interest at 5% and is it then allowed to be varied, or must it be frozen? Hope that makes sense?LBM October 2014  DMP with StepChange as of March 2015

First contact from one of our creditors - MBNA
Lovely letter saying they accept our offer, have reduced interest to 0.00% (please see statement for monthly equivalent rate:rotfl:) and will waive all future late, overlimit and returned payment charges during this time.
It does warn they may register a default (yes please)
So one down 11 to go. Funny thing is we have 3 accounts with MBNA, but 2 of them are listed by SC as Newday. I've contacted SC to find out why they are listed like that and will update when I find out.
I'm going to contact MBNA as it states first payment due beginning of March but SC are only collecting first DD on 1st March so they won't get paid until end March.DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -

Hi January,
I did token payments and wrote a letter for each month a payment was missed. Definitely worth letting mbna know or send a token and letter stating dmp payment from sc will be paid on 25th March.

Hi Puzz
I've just logged into the online account and paid £1 and sent a message through their secure message system to advise of the start date of the DMP and when they should expect first payment.DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0
