hi January, I think your DMP is going to be one of those that just doesn't go straightforwardly, I'd call them up about the creditor names as things went wrong early on for you with SC.
I think under - your budget tab it will show how much you are paying but I can't remember where the breakdown to creditors is.Debt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

The DMP is only in my name and he was earning nothing when I took it up so in April I'm going to ring SC and tell them how much more I can afford to give, as he's contributing £50 per week, which is half of what he's earning to be fair! Hey lots to celebrate here :j
Engagement, and wedding
OH has a new job :j
Increasing DMP payments = reducing DFD :j
DMP going smoothly :T
Fab wedding ideas, I think there is a MSE thread somewhere on weddings if you are interested in more ideas though you sound I've you pretty much in control. And it s about who you marry, not what colour the chairs are
Many congratulations xxDebt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

Just a point of interest for newbies
If debt gets passed to a DcA, they will usually inform you, but I found it takes 7-8 weeks before you get notified officially. The payments seem to eventually find their way to the right place and it's disconcerting when you are in limbo land, but try not to worry.
If with SC just keep paying and when they give new DcA details, change the payee with SC, you can do it with the DMP login.
If self managed change your payee details with the bank.
I know the thought of going to DcA is worrying, embarrassing and maybe a bit humiliating but actually most folk on here have found many DcA's very friendly and easy to deal with. (And no one else need to know).Debt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

Absolutely, Sazzie. I found when one of mine was passed to a DCA, the phone call to them was very pleasant and about 2 minutes long, as soon as I said I was with SC they took my reference number and thanked me and said they'd wait to hear from them.
The main thing that my DMP has taught me is that I don't have to be scared to speak to companies about debt, in my experience they have been very easy to deal with. I would not have expected that when I was in the depths of despair about how I was going to pay them.SPC8 #444 Target £2000 -

I had a real fear of DCAs, it seemed somehow worse to be with one, rather than the original creditor, can't even explain why I felt like that but I felt like it would be a terrible thing
When Lloyds TSB eventually transferred OD account to Cabot, I rang them and they were unbelievably helpful. They did insist on running through an I&E on the phone but I just printed our own off and they were happy with me talking through that. Then they really astounded me by asking was I sure we could afford it and would we like to pay them a bit less!
I am not claiming all DCAs are the same but in our case, Cabot were much easier to deal with than Lloyds TSB themselves.

My thoughts entirely TTFTM . I was horrified that I would be dealing with DCAs as in another life could never have believed it....:rotfl:
I also have Cabot who have been polite, helpful and once explained with SC no problems.
I know DCAs differ but I also wonder if it is that they can see they will get their money back (and some) from people who are committed in paying. Given my level of repayments unless there is a serious change in circumstances I will be paying in full as cannot see anyone being interested in FandF. Just a thought.

Will certainly let you know, no problem Just spoken to Lloyds re our OD....only spoke to them 2 days ago and they sent another letter today!!! They have confirmed that as far as OD is concerned, all charges & interest have been stopped for 6 months and will then do another review! Result!:T
I called Lloyds re OD today as they sent a letter confirming acceptance of payments and that they'd reduce the OD in line with payments having increased it to stop charges. The letters don't state charges will be stopped. The one that confirmed an increased OD even confirmed charges still applied. I called today and they confirmed all interest, charges, and pending charges (over £100!) had all been suspended. Could have put that in the letter, but yes, a result there!! So their CC and OD sorted, like you, just the loan to work on.
I have MBNA and Barclays Debt (in addition to Capital One, Mint, and Argos). MBNA been the best. Can tell Cap1 are playin ball even though they have not told me. Still waiting on Barclays but their heads up letter was a nice one. Argos and Mint, not done much yet as far as I can tell. Think Argos will be a pain!LBM October 2014  DMP with StepChange as of March 2015

Good, optimism helps us get through the day:j
Pleased to see the Lloyds folk are mounting a united self help team, that's brilliant and what this thread is all about. It sounds like the OD people are playing ball and the loan team are not, keep battling on.
All good, considering the very little time we've been doing this. ploppy57 and I will tag team Lloyds into submission! :jLBM October 2014  DMP with StepChange as of March 2015

The only wonky behavior on mine (rather my Wife and I) is that they got our MBNA accounts mixed up so MBNA have accepted a payment of about £5 on a debt of £4500 and frozen interest, and accepted a payment of £48 on a debt of £550 lol. MBNA must be puzzled by the amount offered being twice regular minimum payment and have only reduced interest to 5% as a result but I'm gonna leave it like that, just to burn that card off first then let Stepchange know to increase all the other payments a little on my review in december which will coincide with killing the small debt with the mistakenly large monthly paymentLBM October 2014  DMP with StepChange as of March 2015
