<<< That's my dog, a very naughty little terrier who doesn't listen to a word I say. At least he doesn't eat much:rotfl:
Hope you are doing OK Sazzie. You have so much to deal with yet you are still here giving great advice - which I think is amazing!
Not much to report on my DMP front, still ploughing on.
Keep up the good work everyone:cool:DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Glad you are feeling a bit lighter about things...
Re: dropping payments to £1 for non co-operative creditors I definitely remember reading about a few people doing exactly that.
I've not been in that position myself but I definitely get what you're thinking... not sure i'd recommend it though...
LOL to your second post... maybe you could set-up a premium rate number for them to ring whenever they need your assistance, or if they want to discuss your I&E in more detail? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Thanks Squiz!
Obviously I don't want CCJs/COs etc
So when a creditor rejects an offer and we keep paying our offered amount anyway, that makes CCJs less likely than if we drop to £1?0 -
I think TTfTm when back on the thread might have some advice about hard hitting those creditors who don't cut in interest.
You can only really influence this if you are self manage.
I would like a dog but not sure I could manage if they got sick, even with insurance so it's a pipe dream at the moment. Had dogs for 20 years and not having one is something that makes me sad, although while looking after partner being ill it was probably the right thing to not have one that needed a lot of attention. Happy for those who do have the company of dogs to keep them sane in the face of daft creditors.Debt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

Thanks Sazzie.
Yes we sometimes think about getting dogs but then decide it's too complicated. I'm more a cat person myself although they do have an attitude problem. Lying around waiting for people to feed them, occasionally scratching and biting. Rather like creditors in fact
I'll be interested to see what TTFTM thinks but I will probably just put the £1 proposal to creditors if they call me about this issue. "Can you explain the benefit to me of paying you more than a £1 if it's an offer you've rejected and you're still charging me interest?".0 -
Isn't it supposed to be unfair only to have one dog as they're meant to be in a pack, i.e. you should have at least two?0

I have done it but only after following the full official advice route first:
1) Write official letter of complaint to creditor - ask if you can't find the template.
2) Allow 8 weeks for creditor to respond.
3) If you don't get the response you want, follow it up with the FOS.
I really wouldn't risk a CCJ or charging order by not doing all of this but having said that, when we did eventually resort to the £1 per month, it look less than 3 months to get them to play ball

We love dogs but spend too far long out of the house 5 days per week. We have ferrets, who are probably the closest thing to having a gang of naughty puppies! Oh and we have a real puppy to play with at our daughter's and granddaughter's house

That's great TTFTM, thanks a lot! Yes I will tread extremely carefully and obviously follow all those steps.
