Hi blistering great going. I have the same DFD as but I'm hoping to cut it down, but with horrible amount on car repairs this month at times seem to be going backwards. Anyway good luck to you, see you at the finish line!:)SCP # 034

Morning all! yes, it's 6am and it's Saturday
DD1 has her first day of work experience for her vet school application today (do you remember about a hundred years ago when we were traipsing around the country?
) and I'm risking the Black Saturday sales for a gift for DS2 that has 50% off today. It's a game that was only released last month and there's no way I can get a discount even close to that.
Creation have countered again. 70% final offer and it's on its way in writing with a 14 day limit. £200 more than my last offer. If I don't agree any other F&Fs I can do it (just) so I'm just weighing up the fairness to other creditors and overall DMP impact.
Accepting will mean:
1. No interest on any debt so DFD will be fixed.
2. Every penny of repayment goes off the total.
3. Bigger repayments all round
4. Debt 30% lower than current total.
5. Nobody else has responded to the offers.
6. I will have paid off 56% of debt in the 13 months since my LBM.
After a lot of thought and a bit of sleep I think it's a good offer. It's £735 less than this debt was at the start of my DMP.
Looking for your opinions. The two "real life" people I've consulted have said bite their hand off but they don't understand the ins and outs of debt repayment like you lovely people.

Good to hear from you MB, keep your chin up and look how amazingly far you've already come.
Any chance you can send some of these my way? Gone midnight last night and a group of 15-20 drunk teens (around the age of my teens) were hollering and squealing in the street. Little "darlings" were pushing each other into oncoming traffic and punching car windscreens  Rule 1 of living near me is DO NOT WAKE ME. Actually took the sensible option (even after a few glasses of grape juice) and called the police rather than going out (must be growing up) and the response was fantastic. Within 5 minutes there were 4 patrol cars stopping traffic (it's a busy main road to the city's hospital) and they'd been separated and sent home. Neighbourhood Watch and law enforcement at its best
However, I'm now thinking sniper bananas would have been far more fun and satisfying. There's definitely a market for it!

Have finished my DMP, just at the right time of my life as I was 60 in June. Still working, receiving a works pension, that also had a lump sum attached and have not touched the monthly DMP money or the monthly pension since July when my DMP finished. Thus a nice little nest egg is building, but if I ask at a bank or building society about opening a better bank account to gain interest on this money, what is the outcome likely to be? My Experian report was in the 90s but they did not have mention of Barclaycard, so what else won't be there on others when a bank do a check. I did tell Experian that was a reason I did not extend the free trial with them. Thanks for any help.
Hi Gibbs, great news about the DMP - And you are still saving the dosh - very impressive and with great self-control.
Have you thought of asking your existing bank if they would let you open a better account, or is that not an option, ? Alternatively perhaps you could go to the bank of your choice and see an advisor, I think they can't run a check without your permission but they can probably tell you what the outcome is likely to be?
Remember you show a good record - you have paid off your debt - be proud :jDebt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

Hiya,
Yes, all interest and charges are frozen when they agree to the das. They don't get a choice about it

Hi Kate
Hope the work experience goes well, I'm excited for her too.
Seems like you have the answer about Creation - are you worried you could get it down more?
MB - missed you ducks - I know you are not having an easy time, any news about an op for the back? Did you try nerve root blocks injections etcs - mine has kept me upright for about 18 months .
Don't think I could aim an arrow mind you, but a catapult maybe.......

Woo hoo! In the Black Saturday queue at asda for a TV for DS1, and DS2's game. Asda are handing out tickets for items so there's none of the animalistic behaviour seen yesterday. It's not even that busy. In 5 minutes I'll have exactly what I came for in my trolley and then DD1 and I are going for breakfast out before I take her to her work experience
Perfect combination of great organisation and MSE-ness. No panic buying here

Doubt I'll get it any lower. It's still with original creditor and not defaulted. Each month I hold off for a better deal it's not really reducing. However, whilst it's not quite "too good to be true" I just wanted to gauge opinions as my opinion is slightly biased.

Saturday always seems to be a nasty letter day for some reason. Got myself a tad worried with the latest one from Hellifax Loans "Despite several reminders including the issue of a Default Notice served pursuant to Section 87 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, your account is still in arrears.......If payment isn't made with 14 days from receipt of this letter we may instruct a debt collection agency to recover the debt and/or take legal proceedings against you"......
They were playing nice so far. Does this sound as if they are handing it over to their in house collection agency or am I due a stretch in Holloway
I don't particularly want to ring these clowns as I never get anywhere with them.LBM 2 June 20140 -

To me the letter is a sign of good news for you ... why ??
1) They have defaulted you (thats the S87 reference
2) As they have defaulted you no further interest or fees should be charged and
3) If its sent to their in house DCA (Blair Oliver & Scott) they will accept the payment offered through your DMP .
They certainly did all 3 for me when I defaulted !.0
