The OP is going in July and specifically asked for somewhere " reasonably peaceful."
If you consider a nice marina with some great restaurants, a wonderful town square with more restaurants and planned low-density,low-rise development as nothing there I can see why you're excited about going to Disney !

And here's another vote for Los Gigantes. I also liked Puerto de la Cruz on the north west coast.0

Playa de la Arena, Puerto Santiago or Los Gigantes.0

A little warning to those who love Los Gigantes, the sea walk round crab island was washed away early this year and it will be a little while before you can resume your stroll.0

El Medano is a nice little town with a fab beach. Los Gigantes is also pleasant.0

We love Golf del Sur, just a little further along the coast than las americas. It has a bars and restaurants and some nice walks but nothing too loud. Everything seems very laid back here and seems to be a place a lot of people choose to live.
And if you like fish restaurants its a short walk along the beach to los abrigos which full of them, and a locals town.0 -
Costa Adeje or La Caleta, if you go to the far side of costa adeje, towards los gigantes you would be better. Much nicer accommodations and not too far from your daughter. Los gigantes is ok, but very restricted on the accommodation and dining front and there is very little to do there.
La caleta is a small fishing village and right next to costa adeje and has the best restaurants.0 -
I'm looking to go to tenerife in july , my daughter is repping with TC in Playa De Las Americas , so we are looking for somewhere that is not noisy , as a rule a package deal , crowded beaches , rowdy bars etc is my idea of hell ,so if anyone can recommend anywhere near that is reasonably peaceful that would be great

I recently went to Tenerife stayed 1st week in Santa Cruz followed by second week in Playa del Las Americas.
Had a fabulous peaceful time at Grand Mencey Hotel in Santa Cruz whilst the Americas was a glorified Butlins.0 -
Visited Los Cristianos for a week, wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Mediocre at best, including the recommended hotel.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
