  • Im sure il still be here(although might be slightly hard up.....)

My budget forecast has me at £4,000(after fines and solicitor paid) at end of 2014....not a great amount of money behind me considering monthly expenses PCM are £2,600!! BUT i will keep sticking at budgeting and work that emergency fund up, i feel like i need 4 months expenses to be "in control" and not worry so much, so thats my first goal, get to £10k.....

Alot of you wont agree that is a good idea to have as interest will be next to nothing and interest on debt will be alot higher but i feel like i need this money behind me to get me motivated and keep me on track so thats my first goal sorted, just got to see the year out and take it one day at a time.

Living off of a 30 hour working week right now, cannot wait till winter is over(although il enjoy it while its here) and smack in continuous 60 hour + weeks to get me smashing through some goals for this thread. In a years time, who knows what the situation might be like, hopefully alot better than it is now!

  • Hi YB, good to hear you are still with us.

This is your journey and you pay the debt off your way, no matter what anyone says.

I'm here to support you and give advice if needed...although I think you've got it under control :T
  • Thanks, gothrockchic, this site has been second to none for support and advice. The pms have been flooding in as have the views on my thread but posting in here seems few and far between, even then, most are just me!!

Is it possible to change a thread title? As mine is slightly misleading now!!

I decided last month the key to building wealth is multiple income streams as currently salary is as high as can get due to weather/not a great deal of light hours in the day for a seasonal job...so I need a business running along side it. Researching it the last month, different ideas and done a few brainstorms. Gathering all the info I can before I start anything even had a wee chat with an accountant friend that has just qualified, will come in very handy as not clued up on that part.

My forum name more or less suggests I can THINK like a businessman....now it's time to act like one!!! There's lots of case studies to be found online, some people grow fortunes in no time, others are best just getting a second job. For me, I'm going to use the business income too pay off my debts while building an emergency fund. Let's face it, who's going to stop me?!? :D

  • Part of the £1,000 emergency fund thread, iv just put in £70 that iv saved by haggling on set of winter grips, simply by searching about and working the two cheapest companies off against each other. Felt greedy but i bet they are still making profit on the sale before they were willing to settle at that much discount. I need new work clothes but im holding off until next month once i get my holiday pay(2 weeks off booked over xmas) i plan to work a couple of them days to pay for the work clothes as i doubt il see change from £2-300. So anyway, emegency fund now upto £200, hopefully it just grows and grows.

Any ideas how to change a thread title? As the current one is slightly misleading now. Thats me settled down infront of the box with GF making spag bol for tea, really opened my eyes being plunged into debt, its the small things that make you happy, most of the time they are free. Maybe free is the wrong word but i mean nights infront of the telly after a hard few days work is making me so much happier than i was 3 years ago when i was out every Friday and Saturday night spending £100+ a night with nothing to show for it except a growing gut!!!

Frugal living cant happen overnight, slowly working at it, next month im going to dedicated one complete month where i simply just do not spend anything i really dont NEED to, will do it one summer month so i can simply keep busy by working all the hours so i can maximise income and therefore the surplus, whacking it all into emergency fund, however il maybe treat myself to a massage and a cheap night out if i manage it :D

Very busy day tomorrow so off to enjoy the telly :)

Hi I do always read but am not so good at posting. As things are so different why don't you start a new thread with a new title link it to this one and then all your readers will scoot over to the new thread.
  • Celebrating my birthday and final court date with a new thread....looks like il be here a while!!! https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5118361
