Tesco Recycle Centres - recycle cans for points?

Do Tesco still recycle cans? If so, where?

I've never heard of Tesco recycling cans as such, but many have recycling banks in their car parks.

You might be better off going to your local council's web site and looking for recycling centres.

There used to be a machine that did this at a Tescos in Cheltenham but it had gone the last time I went there.

On a similar note. Can you put other "soft" plastics in plastic bag recycling? So plastic film and stuff like that? And can you put any kind of plastic bag in plastic bag recycling?

The machines in Havant and Portsmouth also vanished and replaced with a load of "commercial" bins....

Just spoke to Tesco CS.....apparently the Recycling Centres have been "discontinued" and removed.

Lodged my displeasure at the lack of communication - beer can's now going back in the council green bin.

Do you not have curbside recycling collection?

Maybe your local authority is bringing it in and that's why the recycling centres have been removed?

I think many people don't know about this - a few Tesco stores had special can recycling bins in their car parks that paid you Tesco points for each can you lobbed in it.

There weren't many. They weren't well known. That is what the OP's asking about.... whether they can still get Tesco points added to their card for recycling their old cans at particular Tesco recycling bins - and, if so, which stores still have them.

It sounds like: none now.

Hi - we have a very good kerbside scheme (as does Portsmouth) - wheely bins for cans / cardboard / plastic = infact our guys took all the cardboard from a 25 sq metre kitchen installation - two stacks as high as wheely bin.

I used the Tesco machine purely for the points - cans will go back in the wheelie bin and glass will go in the nearest bottle bank.....

From what Tesco CS - they are removing all of them.....
