REALLY?
Would you give your bank details out to an email request then, maybe to a Nigerian gentleman who said that you were going to receive a large amount of money?
This is no different, so please dismount from your very high horse.0 -
I worked for an agency fro many years, and it was standard to ask for bank details, P46 completion and passport upon registration.
Some people refused to supply bank details on the day and afterwards they: complained they had to come back again; attempted to provided them over the phone and were annoyed that we would not use them without a signiture; forgot to give them despite being reminded and then complained they had been issued with a cheque intead of being paid into the no-existant bank details or or complained that there was no bacs payment on Friday after bringing in the details on Thursday morning.
They want the details so that they can pay you if you work temporary or temp to perm for them. You can 'forget' them on the day, but you will have to go back to the office if you accept a job where they will pay you. if you are adamant that you will only work permanent then they will never need them, however many jobs start temp to perm."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." Yes, but several people who gave them will never be offered work. Completely pointless I say to ask for bank details when you are never going to give them any assignments. As for them moaning that they have to come back again, it's up to them and a small effort to make rather then give agencies information that they don't need0 -

Have you ever used a cheque? Then youve handed over a lot more info than just sort code and acc. number.
And when you lose a bank card and get sent a new one, your sort code and account number always stays the same.Do you think the bank would do this if there was a threat to your account?
This must be some of the worst advice ever posted on this forum. Are you or are you related to a Nigerian email scammer?Writing down an account number and sort code isn't really jumping through hoops.
Shame we won't have the pleasure of the OP's follow up thread: My agency never paid my wages this month!
Not to mention of course the Full Passport, birth certificate, something with the OP's NI number on it, proof of addresses and full details of all their employment within the last 5 years0 -
As well as all the OP has been asked to provide, an agency which has found me a short term contract has just asked me for two character references. Given my employment references cover the past 8 years and I've been through security checks for the MOD, I find this really intrusive.
Will find out on Monday if the employer needs this. If it's just the agency they're not getting them!0 -
Obviously use common sense, and my horse likes being high, just like meREALLY?

Exactly, some people have no idea when it comes to identity theft.0 -
hi,
I read the question asked by you and according to me the question arises in your mind is correct and the answer of your question is On ly that much information you should given to the agency which you think is advisible means not as large and not as small.0 -

Not really.
The agency probably have enough to do. Do you want the to contact the applicant when for each piece of information they require? Or should they just try asking for everything in the 1 go?
Next time you sign up for an agency tell them you'll give what information suits you to give. Let us know how that goes.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0
