I'm a convert! I've started cleaning our place for when we move, I was on the verge of forking out for mold remover and oven cleaner. NOT ANY MORE! :D I can't believe how it wipes through everything and leaves a spotless surface. I always here them wang on about it in money saving shows on TV, but it really does work.

Have you any tips to add to my new found love of bicarb? What else can I clean with it?

I need to clean my place before I leave, too. What concentration do you use for the bicarb solution?

to freshen up smelly carpets (especially if you have pets)

Sprinkle liberally on, brush in with a firm bristled brush, leave for a while (I leave it overnight) and vacuum.
Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j

Would this work on tarnished handbag hardware? Started off gold, now silver?

I read you can use it pre-wash to help clean dirty (yellow stained) duvets and such-like... anyone ever done this?

I use mine to clean my fridge - it's slightly abrasive but doesn't leave any residual smell

Used to work in an office where the tea lady always cleaned the urn out with bleach on a Friday night, always had coffee on Monday morning.

Depends what you're cleaning :) for the oven, make a thick paste with water and bicarb, smear it on and leave over night. Wipe it all off the next day, and buff up.

And for the mold, mix a slightly watered down solution of the two and spray/or dampen with a cloth and then go at it with a scrubbing brush, lifts off a treat. I've done one good clean and most has come off, but I'll be doing a second the week before we move.
