That will be the other side of the engine. DMF on its way out also?

The mk3 mondy has two auxiliary belts, one on usual o/s of the engine and another on the n/s of the engine running the water pump and ps pump. So could I suppose be that one and the tensioner.

(Which is the brilliance of the mondeo really, the water pump is a DIY job :))

    Theres two acc belts?

The one on the nearside is the one that usually gets noisey and needs a new tensioner

Though my mk3 did nearly 250k on the original belt and tensioner before it got really noisy, though only on tickover.

I will have a look for my Mondeo Haynes manual as i never looked closely enough at my mk3 all it ever needed was oil and oil filter, air and fuel filters a set of brakes all round and a pair of handbrake cables.

Depends if its a petrol or diesel. Diesels have the long main belt on the left drives the alternator and Aircon.

The smaller belt on the right of the engine drives the powersteering pump which is also attached to the waterpump.
