Thinking of getting one, but I have no idea what the requirements are.
I have wifi so presumably I can receive using that?
Do I need a computer switched on when using the radio?

Yes.
You don't need the computer switched on.
The internet radio connects to your WiFi and hey presto there's a world of stuff out there from the sublime to the absolute rubbish and everything in between.
I love mine as most of the specialist stations I listen to are advert free, no point in adverts when people can be anywhere. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
Thanks Mr T, is there a reasonably priced simple one around? We generally only listen to 3 or 4 stations, so a few presets would be enough. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

I listen to Radio Merseyside and just log on their site for 'listen now'.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

I don't know to be honest.
I'd owned the same Roberts AM/FM radio for about 40 years, since I left home to go to Uni in fact.
I decided that I was fed up of moving it round the house with me, or rather leaving it in the office or kitchen then having to go and get it.
I decided to upgrade to DAB at the same time and bought one of these.

It's a superb radio with great sound but not cheap. That said I have the radio on all day so it was worth every penny to me.One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -

The BBC iPlayer radio app is pretty good but obviously only BBC stations.0

If you can track one of these down, they are really good.
