the MSE article says "....TSB allows you to open two single accounts and two joint accounts ..."0

Just what I was going to say 2 each and 2 joint adding up to 8KIf you change nothing, nothing will change!!0

I make it £19K - 3 x Classic and 2 x Classic +0

You can have two sole, your spouse can have two sole and you can each open a joint account with the other? I make that £12000.

I originally opened my two single a/c s online
Made appointment in branch to open the joint a/cs .... got a phone call saying she needed to re-schedule appointment but why was I coming in? Explained to open the two joint a/cs ....was told I was only entitled to two!! she cancelled the appointment.
After reading on here last week, contacted TSB customer services by phone and had it confirmed again - entitled to four a/cs in total.
I explained the branch advice.......
She VOLUNTARILY made it a complaint and instantly gave me a total of £49.00 compensation, made up of a combination of time on phone, inconvenience, wrong info provided by branch etc. etc.......0 -
You can EACH have two single and two joint - total 8*2000 = £160000

Surely the joint ones are shared between the couple, i.e. total of four sole accounts and two joint ones equals six, therefore £12K?0 -

Not necessarily
one possible scenario
Person A = 2 sole + 1 Joint with Person B + 1 Joint with Person C
Person B = 2 sole + 1 Joint with Person A + 1 Joint with Person C
Where A&B are a couple, and C is another family member
Obviously, A&B need to trust C as well as each other :rotfl:0 -
Exactly....we use OH's mother.......0
