so you want to separate because you 'want to grow up' .. unbelievable?
in what way aren't you already grown up as part of the UK?
do you believe that New Yorkers aren't grown up because they are part of the USA?
do your believe people living in Brittany aren't grown up because they are part of France?
do you support joining the EU and giving away your 'grown up ' status asap
or do you want to stay 'grown up' and be independent and outside the EU?
When I say grow up what I mean is taking control of our own affairs, much like adults do. A simple analogy is would you hand over your salary to your neighbour and let them decide how best you spend it and where? Of course you wouldn't. I want Scotland and the Scottish government to have full control over all aspects. We are a country in our own right not a region.
As far as the EU goes I'd like us to stay but that's an issue that's been gone over and over and over. I know you'll say we're not going to be members, I'd say no one knows the answer to that but I'm going with the notion that Scotland will be welcomed with open arms. The EU by its nature wants to expand so to want to exclude us makes no sense. That's my thinking and you can state yours and we can go round in circles over who is right. The truth is none of us know yet for sure.0 -

Between 30 & 40% actually. Yes has never been remotely close to polling 50%.0 -
you have totally missed the point.
I'm asking you, if you fell it is so important for a nationalist/racist group called 'Scottish' to isolate themselves form the Welsh/ N. Irish / English then
why do you WANT to join 27 other counties and lose that 'independence' that is so very important to you.
unless of course it just a hatred of the English
No, you have missed the point. It's not about isolation it's about self determination.

Baby steps. Scotland has yet to learn to crawl let alone walk. Simplistic to think that a switch is flicked and everything will work like clockwork tomorrow. There'll be considerable change if Scotland does vote for independence. So no one can be sure if the promised land even exists.0 -
you are not a nationalist?
what do you consider a nationalist to be?
you want to break a 300 year union because ............ ?
then you just happen to quote your English friends all want separation
the biggest issue of the referendum is racist hatred
Whoever suggested beaking a 300-year union? They're talking about improving it by supplying full-service functionality for two of its parliaments, not just the one.
I forgot to check if you managed to drop the word racist into the post. Let's look - oh of course you did!:rotfl:you have totally missed the point.

What a post! In one breath, you imply that Scotland wants to isolate themselves from the Welsh/N. Irish/English.
In the next you hint it's absurd to want to join with 27 other countries (which you presumably meant instead of counties). While forgetting to mention that also includes the selfsame Welsh/ N. Irish /English, and therefore is widening if not deepening Scotland's participation with most of Europe, including and not neglecting Britain.
Still you got to put the word racist into another post as part of your sad attempt to make it real by saying it often enough.

you have self determination now.
what you want is self determination based on nationalistic /racist lines and specifically excluding the English
do you think that the people of New York aren't grown up because they form part of the USA?0 -

I don't think it at all absurd for Scotland to want to join the EU, as the 'independence' movement isn't anything to do with self determination (which they have already) but a wish to break away from the English as any cost whatsoever.
So any combination of illogical policies are acceptable as long as the direct link to the English is broken.0 -

Zag, leave him be.
He's been educated enough times in our posts that we have no hatred or racism against the English despite his ascertations.
He obviously has an agenda to try and get any Independence thread pulled by inciting a hatred and racism which is not prevalent, certainly not in our posts.
I'd recommend to just respond to points which are adding value to the discussions:wall:
