Set up alerts on skyscanner and kayak- they search all airlines for your dates and email you daily of changes up or down :) I've currently got alerts set for next august when the flights come out in September ;) oh and look on the dibb forums, florida trip planning as glitches and deals are often posted on there :) further consider going indirect, much cheaper and avoids the very, very long immigration queues at Orlando airport.

  • well I checked and half term starts on the following Monday?

    am I wrong??

I thought 25th was a few days before they broke up, as prices where slightly cheaper then what I think is half term

Its irrelevant when schools break up(different schools also break up at different times, flights to orlando are always higher when including easter in them.

School Easter Hols can vary depending on where in the country you are.

Are you particularly wanting direct flights?

Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

well from what ive seen they are slightly cheaper then if I was to book the week of the holiday.

And seeing as we cant take our kids out of school for 2 weeks for a family holiday, I feel im going to pay for it!

just hope someone has a good tip on best time to book or how to get them slightly cheaper.

Would you consider flying indirect? Can be cheaper
TBH, £2k for 4/5 is pretty much as cheap as I'd expect for Easter

We flew indirect to Orlando for the first time last summer (our 15th visit) and would certainly do it again. We flew united who were great, had one problem on the way back but that was due to us volunteering to be bumped as flight was overbooked, but this has almost paid for our flights to New York so in a way it was worth it. We have over the years flown BA, Virgin, Thompson etc. I can only go during school holidays as I am support staff at a school, can't remember exactly how much United was last August I think around £850 each for adults we flew via newark on the way out and Washington on the way home (although it should have been Dallas) our flights were into Tampa not Orlando International but it was only about a 45/50min drive to resort so we were really pleased.
If you consider other Florida airports I would personally avoid Miami - we have flown there twice as got a big discount on BA when DH worked for BAA but it is a very long drive to Orlando, if you are considering it I would personally recommend staying in the Miami area for the first night and driving up to Orlando early in the morning, stopping for breakfast on the way.
    Hope this helps.

  • If you're willing to take a rather funny route with 2 changes each way, there is money to be saved. Otherwise, £2000 is quite a good price.

Good luck finding that route with any other travel agency, but it'll work (I have checked all the minimum connections etc)
