  • I have a fussy cat who will only eat pouches and usually only whiskers or felix which you can get on offer at times 2 for £6. Tesco premium cat food pouches must taste just as good (not personally taste tested!) and costs £1.99 for 12 pouches bargain!:p
  • Don't be fooled by slick advertising. Generic medicines such as Asda's Ibuprofen (33p for 16) is exactly the same as Nurofen (£1.89 for 16). Just check the active ingredients!!

    So plenty more pennies for....

If you need a strong pain-killer like Solpadeine the try asking for co-codamol B.P. they are the same formulation (except for the caffeine ) and they are far cheaper. I use the effervescent type as they seem to work faster.

Tesco's White Chocolate tastes identical to Milky Bar to me and is 1/2 the price.
Tesco and Sainsbury's Pasta Sauces also taste fantastic (definitely better than Dolmio!) and is 1/2 the price.
Sainsbury's Shreddies (different name though) taste identical to regular Shreddies and are 1/2 the price.

It's only been a few months since i 'discovered' own brand products are generally much cheaper and in some cases better! I am now totally converted. :)

Are you a coffee drinker on a budget? Bellarom Caffe Espresso Nach Original Italienischem Rezept from Lidl is a good buy at £1.19 for a 200g can of espresso coffee.

I spend a small fortune on coffee beans and while the Lidl coffee isn't anywhere near the fresher beans I buy, it makes a far nicer drink than any other beans or ground coffee I have found in a supermarket and it is about half the price of the cheapest bags of beans.

A word of warning about value cat litter - these can seem to almost eat into litter trays. They definately stain them.
  • Morrisons own brand frozen yorkshire puddings are even better than Aunt Bessies! cheaper too! Go on, give 'em a go!:o
  • i think they're 25p for about 200g, anyway miles cheaper than all the others.

taste great on their own - or even better with pepper and/or powdered chilli added.
Boyfriend & I have saved £12K in two years, thanks to careful budgeting and keeping a record of what we spend. I've never paid myself this amount of money before - it feels great!
