Gets my goat as well. The houses we live in have a grass strip between our boundary wall and the pavement. The council rarely mow this which if you leave it seems to encourage dog owners to leave the !!!! in it thinking its invisible and if you do try to keep it cut back, you end up having to mow round the !!!! otherwise rotary mower and dog turd is akin to the !!!! hitting the fan! I know its not either of the two neighbours with dogs but there is a regular dog walk into the nearby fields that passes our house so the dog "traffic" is quite high.
Its going to get to the stage where I get some chilli powder out there!Adventure before Dementia!0 -
In my experience, the things that work best are getting the council to put up signs in the areas where there's a problem, asking them to patrol it visibly a few times, and politely appearing holding out a bag because, oops, they seem to have forgotten theirs. Very few people are brazen enough to stand there and admit that they are just happily going to leave a pile of dog mess sitting there.
There was a bit of a problem with one of the dog owners in my building last year, it was making it look as though we were all irresponsible. A combination of those three things solved the issue. Although I appreciate not all councils are as helpful.0 -
Oh please Fufu you're not going to tell us you've been caught short and had to go behind some bushes in the park are you ?
No! Our toilet is broken at the moment, and there is a dog bin about 50 metres from our front door and I just wondered whether it would be illegal if we used that?0 -
This is a problem for me too. In my house I have a small front lawn which isnt fenced off. I got a quote to fence it and put up gates but it was hundreds of pounds which I can't justify spending at the moment because if I had any spare cash I have to buy a new boiler.
Because everyone else in the street has paved over their lawn for parking, mine is the only patch of grass around. Every day there is dog poo on there. I dont know what to I've tried to see which dogs are the culprits but never seem to catch them. I'ts worse when I have just mowed it....they seem to prefer short grass! Within a few hors of cutting it there is dog poo there. There is one dog that just runs around the street all day, the owners just kick it out in the street...so I think its mainly this one but I dont know which house it belongs to.
...its just horrible because it means I never use my own front garden.0 -

We have a plumber coming on Thursday, but can't hold it in that long!
If we were to do it in a plastic bag and then put in the dog bin that would be ok wouldn't it?0 -
I think I am going to ask the council to post out letters there are a few dogs around here and most do pick up the ones who don't usually walk behind the houses to the fields as they think no one will see them - this is usually 2 old men so I can see it may be a struggle bending etc.. but as mentioned in my first post the main problem is the neighbors dog.
They literally open the door let it out, 20 mins or so later they call it in this way they can 'pretend' they did not realize the dog had been to toilet when really they know it has. They do this twice a day as they never actually walk the dog.
My toddler is starting toilet training I wonder how they would feel if I let him do his business in their garden :rotfl:Wins 2014 - ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVYXYZ

This would be ideal if only they were there with the dog. although saying that I have seen them out with it once when it went to toilet on the green and offered them a nappy bag before and they just laugh and said they'd go get a spade....they never did get that spade.Wins 2014 - ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVYXYZ

That's what some hikers, hillwalkers and climbers have to do, it's called "leave no trace".
