Stained induction hob after pan burnt dry

Wonder if there's anything I can do?
Nearly new Bosch induction hob (my pride and joy) has been left stained after a pan burnt dry. I've used hob cleaner and black hob shines like new, but stained section has what looks like a greasy film on it, although surface is smooth.
Will this fade in time (hopeful!!) or is there anything else I can try on it?

You need a hob scraper. Lakeland sell them.

My first port of call would be customer care at Bosch for advice.0

Thanks. I have a hob scraper, but don't need this. The hob is completely smooth and clean. The stain discolours the glass.
These lakeland hob scrapers were very good on my previous ceramic hob, but since going 'induction' I've never had to use them.0 -
I've never heard of anything that can penetrate glass. I'd bet this is a surface stain. I would definitely try a very sharp blade."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

A plastiv scourer will not scratch the surface of the glass. It should be Schott glass, really strong and resilient, so should stand up to some hob brite and a plastic scourer, used gently, but a number of times.
There must have been some grease or something on the base of the pan. Had my Induction for over 5 years and no issues, still looks like new.0 -
Can you spray a oven cleaner on it?or use Oven Pride and see if that removes the stain.0

I would call the makers and ask them. Definitely don't use a sharp knife!! You might get the stain off but end up with scratches instead.0

I'd go for Bosch customer service, as induction hobs are too expensive to risk further damaging.
Reminds me to be extra careful, when mine is fitted, as I've burned two pans dry just this week. (First time I've burned eggs in 60 years).0 -
My Bosch ceramic hob sometimes gets marks on that look like they're in the glass, I clean it with hob brite and a sponge scourer, although occasionally the marks don't come off, the next time I use it they do. I figure the heat must help lift them off.0

Thanks for all the help. I have e-mailed Bosch and am waiting for reply, but just thought I'd ask here in case anyone else had come across the same problem. No scraping is required as hob is absolutely smooth. The discolouration looks as if the black colouring has vanished and is replaced by grey/purple.
I had taken out John Lewis extended warranty, but it specifically excludes 'cosmetic damage' where the hob is still working as normal.
I'll continue to use hob cleaner and see if the discolouration gradually wears off.0
