Hi! I had quite simular situation and after appealing to company that issued PCN they have agreed to Cancel it. You can read entire thread here:

One of the points I have used in my appeal was:
    1) Vehicle registration number XXXXXXX stated in PCN XXXX does not correspond to my vehicle registration number. For a ticket to be valid it HAS TO contain the Reg No of the offending vehicle. Yours doesn't have correct vehicle number and nothing in law allows you to reissue a PCN (or pass my details to dept collectors) with these details changed.

By the way, initially I was also about to pay, and when paying I have discovered, that they made mistake in my reg number. And to be fair, I have parking permit and I was parked at my allocated bay for which I am paying as part of my rent, so its fair that they agreed to Cancel it and I'm quite thankful them for it.

So glad we stopped you both from paying this scam - a close call. Just because these firms imitate a parking ticket DOES NOT make it one! NEVER PAY.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Most likely outcome is that some other unlucky beggar is going to get a NtK intended for you, and you'll never hear from them again.
