Complain and use a competitor. I know for sure that ASDA have resolved a number of issues like this within the day and I think most people if told 'I can see you have delivery slots' would be embarrassed into at least providing some ideas about what you could do.

Im pointing out this part because sometimes its not always as easy as that, it may be if placing a new order the slots are there but to get something redelivered/collected then it may be a completely different system that cant be overridden in which case the op was told that, that they had to wait for a del nearby in order for that to happen. And there is only so much someone can do on the phone as well at the end of the day so while it seems a simple as sending it out on one of those slots it really might not be.

I also to point out when the op said the person at the end of the phone seemed unconcerned when they said they would shop elsewhere in future. To be fair you get that a lot working in customer service people threatening to shop elsewhere because of an issue so it doesn't surprise me because you will hear it so many time a day along with the favourite "i don't expect this level of service from...".

I think it's unreasonable to expect sainsburys to make a personalised special redelivery of milk to be honest, good customer service is one thing, which they have provided as they have offered to refund or replace, but expecting them to make a special delivery of a few cartons of milk immediately the same day is unreasonable on the op's part.

In the meantime while you are waiting for them to redelivery and collect the offending items, why don't you just nip to the local shop and buy a couple of pints of fresh milk to put you on?

I agree that Sainsburys are not big on customer service and can be arrogant at times.

See my post of today under the heading "Sainsburys online groceries", where they overcharged me for plastic bags not supplied and substituted a more expensive wine. I would have copied and pasted that post here but this website doesn't let you do that anymore.
