Poor you Fizz - what a nightmare! Sounds like a stressful day involving too much driving/cleaning/shouting. Was she meant to be staying at a friends more locally?
Well done for resisting Boots. The cider sounds like a much better idea to me.0 -
Oh FizzWhizz you must be hopping! Hoping the cider has helped...and the fact you managed to resist Boots! Well done!
More than can be said for my day today...
Went into Boots as I have run out of my Clinique redness solutions cleanser and moisturiser so I needed both, have been trying to use up some other moisturisers but the redness has definitely increased since i've stopped using this moisturiser so I'm back on it. Anyway...bonus time is on at Clinique so because I was buying these 2 I got a free gift! Yay
So I have a few INS but i'm trying not to feel too guilty about it because really who passes up a free gift? Not me anyway!
INS: All Clinique
Redness solutions cleanser and moisturiser
7 day scrub cream
Deep comfort body butter
Dramatically different moisturiser
Rinse-off foaming cleanser
Happy perfume
Chubby stick in mega melon
They're all mini sizes obvs so it won't take long to use them up.
1 OUT:
Bobbi Brown Eye Cream sachet - would not buy. Very thick consistency which meant really it was only good for night time as didn't sink in quickly enough to put make-up/concealer on in the morning.
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend :-)0 -
FizzWhizz - Oh no, is she suitably sorry or defiant? I am dreading my kids becoming teens.
tiffanyjane - well done on the lovely prize.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
Fashion on the Ration 28/660 -
Morning everyone!
3 UUs to report, which have all been a long time coming!
Aussie Mega Conditioner 250ml - yet another one! Love this HG of conditioners for me.
Baylis & Harding Wild Rose & Raspberry Leaf body wash 750ml - this was a present from a child in my class at Christmas. Loved the smell, but wasn't keen on the size of the bottle (too big!). WNBA, but wouldn't mind receiving it as a present.
White Company Flowers Bath & Shower Gel 30ml - snaffled from a hotel room. Lovely, wouldn't buy the full price version but definitely won't say no to snaffling another.
Need to keep on ploughing through my stash. However, the stash is definitely reducing in size and they are mainly full size bottles now, which take far longer to use up.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Good morning ladies. I am missing the sun
has been cloudy here the past 2 days.
2 UU this morning :T - 1 from PP:1. [STRIKE]The Sanctuary body lotion[/STRIKE] This was a LHJ, I like it but prefer the body butter. One more mini of this left in the stash
2. Soap and Glory hand food mini
3. The Body Shop seaweed mattifying day cream
4. Elle foot cream
5. The Body Shop vanilla shower gel
The other items on this list just keep going! 2 of them are nearly UU. 1 will probably be gone by the end of the month but the other probably won't be.
The other UU was:
111: L'oreal Ever Sleek Shampoo 250ml - was ok, probably WNBA. Took me a while to get through this. I only have a silver shampoo left at home now which doesn't clean that well, is just good at getting rid of brassy tones. Will buy another shampoo when I next go to the shops.0 -
Thankyou, you lovely ladies
Yes, she was supposed to be staying with a friend around the corner from her dad's, I'd even text the friend's mum to check it was ok for her to stay and explain that her dad was away for the weekend. Turns out her friend had taken her mum's phone and SHE was the one I was texting  Thank god my second BFF saw what was going on and nipped it in the bud before it got really out of hand; it was bad but it could have been a lot worse.
ETA: dolly, she is saying she's sorry but much like not listening in the first place, it's a well practised art for her. Bloody kids, who'd have 'em?! :rotfl:
Anyhow, I had to go to Sainsbobs today so I have an IN to declare.
IN # 46: Eylure Dybrow Kit in Black; I've never had my brows tinted but as my natural hair is mousy ash brown and I dye it black, I look really mismatched unless my brows are filled in. Hoping that if I dye them, I might be able to get away with a more natural look for the summer. Off work tomorrow :T so I'll give it a whirl then0 -
UU no 9/ a dove spray deo which is bought a bundle of in waitrose one day when they were selling them off at 39p.
Have more in stash and would prob buy again if on any kind of offerNo more unnecessary toiletries Feb 2014 INS: 24 UU: 13. Mar 2014. INS: lost count, naughty step for me! UU: 80 -
emsjune - I am using PCMC at the moment and I go through it for fun too and I don't have dry skin either.
Glad it's not just me thenKeeping it affordable by sourcing small tubes off eBay.
Being "of mature years" my routine is a bit complicated and I use a serum then PCMC as well as:-
Cleanse (hot cloth) cream or balm, then spritz with hydrating toner, LE Instant Boost Skin tonic is fave, but for me BS Aloe Vera does the job nicely of getting some hydration onto skin, then Serum, Indeed Labs Hydraluron and lastly PCMC. (Then spf in some form or another - this getting old business is expensive:rotfl:)
I'm not suggesting that you need to follow all this, but think the toner spritz is a good step. I have read that after using PCMC for a while and topping up a thirsty skin that less will be needed, I only use a weeny amount.
I will be 65 in 12 days time:eek: and although I have quite a lot of fine lines around eyes and slightly deeper ones on top lip, my skin is firm and bouncy, not saggy and as yet no deep lines.
Re: the "pillow lines" you might want to check if you are taking enough fluid generally. I only get them now if I have one of those nights when I really bury my face in the pillow.
Thank you very much for the advice and sharing your routine. I'm always interested in what everyone else swears by. It's a good point regarding fluid intake, I know I don't drink enough. To be honest I thought this was maybe a faint/old scar as it only ever seems to appear in the same place.Glad you're getting on well with the PCMC. I really notice a difference when I don't use it in that the fine lines creep back around my eyes.
I'm also using the Flash Balm at the moment and have become quite impressed by it over the last week or so. Does make my skin look fresher. Have a few tubes to UU before I consider repurchasing though.
Thanks Val, I'm thinking I might try using PCMC and the flash balm together and see how I get on as I've a couple of tubes of both.0 -
EmsJune - really good to see you backHappy belated birthday!
Thank you very muchThanks KT, without waffling too much (no mean feat for me!) DD has really let me down, lying, conniving and throwing a house party at her dad's last night when she was supposed to be staying with a friend so I could collect her this morning. My second BFF called me at 11pm last night to let me know there was really loud music, kids smoking god knows what and p!ssed people all over their streetI should point out, DD is only 15! I am steaming and SO disappointed in her, she has always been the sort of kid who says "yes mum, you're right mum" and then does whatever you've advised against regardless but this takes the biscuit. Hence I spent this morning mopping floors, washing bedding and doing a LOT of shouting in my ex-husband's house. We live in the West Mids and she and her dad are in Wales so added to 4 hours of driving there and back, I am not a ray of sunshine today!
But on a less whingey note, I didn't go to Boots, just drank a huge cider instead
:eek::eek: Don't blame you re the cider, incredibly restrained on not going on a shopping spree!!IN # 46: Eylure Dybrow Kit in Black; I've never had my brows tinted but as my natural hair is mousy ash brown and I dye it black, I look really mismatched unless my brows are filled in. Hoping that if I dye them, I might be able to get away with a more natural look for the summer. Off work tomorrow :T so I'll give it a whirl then
I've been using this for a while now, my eyebrows are dark anyway but it just gives them a bit more definition and fills in any gaps. Very quick and easy to use and a box lasts ages.0 -
Very sneaky of your DD Fizzwhizz - that must have taken some planning! Good job your friend saw what was going on. Poor you, hope you have taken some time to relax today.
2 more OUTS, these are taken from my make up 'to try' pile that I made a few weeks ago:
112 - Elf Blush (not sure of the colour), bought this fairly recently but can't get it to work for me, is too glittery and red toned. Going to sell at car boot sale.
113 - Random blush palette thing with 2 shades in. Binned this, no pigmentation and is very old!
Still have lots more in the 'to try' pile. Have enjoyed doing this with make up as have discovered 2 things that I actually really like. Most of the stuff left in the pile is eyeshadow. I put some eyeshadow on this morning but I am so bad at applying it properly!!
Forgot to declare an IN too -
116 - Eyeko navy eyeliner from Glamour magazine. Not tried this yet but haven't read great things about it.0
