Virgin to Sky

Hi,

Using the 50% off code I am thinking of moving from Virgin to Sky. With Sky Fibre Broadband they still need to use the master socket but currently my master socket is in the passage and no electrics near it. On installation day will they put a new master socket in where I want it?

Also I would like my phone number to be transferred do I need to put in a cancellation request to Virgin for this?

Virgin and Sky use completely separate equipment, so yes when Sky (or actually Openreach) come to install your new line they will put in a new master socket and you can tell them where you want it.

Don't cancel your phone service with Virgin or you may lose your number. Tell Sky you want to transfer your number from Virgin and they will deal with it. Your Virgin phone service will be cancelled automatically once the number has gone across.

You will need to cancel your broadband with Virgin though (this is separate from the number transfer).

He'll also need to cancel any television service he has with Virgin (assuming he is subscribing to Sky TV as well as the other services) and will be required to give one month's notice of cancellation.

Thanks for the info I will cancel my request for cancellation on the phone line so Sky can take over that.

The only other issue I can see is it looks like you need telephone lines for each Sky box you want.

A telephone connection to the Sky box is no longer required for new installations unless you have Multi-room.
