Ignore what the wedding planner has said - she is bitter about losing her job, it is unfair of her to say that the company who have taken over the hotel have no interest or experience in organising events thus causing more stress for you.
The new owners have said that your contract will be honoured - so what you expected and paid for will be provided - the planner saying it won't be as nice is being unprofessional and vindictive especially telling you to add on even more on top if you find somewhere else. As you have found and others the same it is very difficult to find somewhere else at this late stage.
If I were you, I would have the wedding at this hotel as planned - the new owners don't sound unprofessional and they will do their utmost to make sure that your day is wonderful. Don't fret about them saying they are going to refurbish the hotel - this is likely to take place in the off-season after your wedding.0 -
Or alternatively the wedding planner knows more about the new owners and their future plans -and is trying to help the OP make a good decision rather than have a less than stellar experience. The fact they have encouraged the cancellations of all functions with a more generous than is usual cash offer shows they don't want functions so won't be giving 100%I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
