I'm guessing Derrick has been locked up at some time and he's bitter and twisted with 'the man'
Don't make libelous remarks that you cannot back up, the personal experience I refer to are to the contrary, I was legal they where not.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
There's nothing in the OP's posts about where the car was found as far as I can see (though admittedly six pages of argument is a lot to look through), so I don't think you can make any judgement either way about whether the car was parked illegally or causing an obstruction or not.0

Pot/ Kettle Derrick. Do you not remember saying "They are the biggest lawbreakers in the land"If you can keep your head, when all around you are losing theirs. You have underestimated the seriousness of the situation!!!0 -

#41:-
The car was only taken to the garage on the order that it needed to be finger printed. Not because it was blocking the way, or in the middle of the roadDon`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.0

Just personal experience
Somehow I could have guessed you had personal experience of the police - your negativity towards them just seeps out your posts.
Perhaps you'd prefer it if they didn't try to find the offenders and they just left them out there to steal even more cars - they'd be another post entitled Police Screw Up then - Police allowed my car to be stolen a second time! Get real the only people to have done wrong is the car thieves!!
Perhaps the OP didn't want his car back and would have preferred to lose his excess for the cost of a new car rather than storage and any damage they did getting in and bending the steering wheel.0 -
Come on Derrick, Spill the beans what was your "personal experience"If you can keep your head, when all around you are losing theirs. You have underestimated the seriousness of the situation!!!0

ok ppl, an update, this is very informative and entertaining so i thank you all for your debate
Vehicles recovered for evidential purposes will create a liability
the above is now being used as a reference in my letter the the chief const.
to add, the car was parked neatly, a neighbour witnessed a youth get out of the car, and she knew it was not his so she reported it as stolen but will not give a statement
the police admit, they took the car to lock up so they could finger print it, 1 officor said they would pay, another said they would not. the thief is on bail pending fingerprint testing.
im curious, 5 officors came to my house within 24 hours spoke to me, and a SOCO team took finger prints, add to that interogation, administration, mileage, overtime etc etc etc etc etc, how much has been spent on this one case, id estimate so far in excess of £5000 in man hours and administration/costs/transport/evidence etc etc etc, and ppl make out on here that society would crumble if i claimed £105 back....when in the long run, had they called to ask if i wanted to pursue this, or just pick up my car...i would of said yeah, sod it....ill pick it up. saved you £?????
and no one has said whether it is right or wrong to try and claim back £105 when we are claiming £Millions from the banks, clearly they are both grey areas with both involve "moneysaving"Chasing up on: Barclaycard closed account 1K +
Cetelem x 2 closed 2k+
Barclays Bank closed 1k+
then onto,
EggCard £142
LLoydsTSB £440
LLoyd creditcard £500+
thankyou all for the help.0 -
This gets worse! So they actually arrested the person who took your car, returned it to you safely, did SOC to ensure a conviction and youre still not happy????
Would you rather it had been left where it was and possibly damaged, or just not recovered at all, so youd have had the inconvenience of no car at all while the claim was pending??
As a matter of interest, since you hadnt already reported your car stolen at the time it was found, is your tel no listed in the phone directory??0
