Vodafone retentions deal inconsistent for samsung U700
Called up vodafone over the weekend and asked about upgrading my handset to the samsung U600 or U700. The person I spoke to offered me the U700 free and to continue my current line rental at £15 for 100mins and 50 txt (old tariff) on a 12 month contract. I said I wanted to check out the phone first by reading reviews/looking at it in the shops. He then told me that he could only hold the deal for 24 hours.
Called them up today and was told that I had to pay £160 for a 12 month contract or £30 for an 18 month contract. This is apparently from the retentions department. I was really annoyed and questioned how they could be so inconsistent. The reply I got was that the first person I spoke to made a mistake and should never have offered me such a deal and that he will put a note on my account to make sure that I don't ever get such a deal ???!!!!!!
Is that annoying or what!! I've been a loyal customer for years and have always had good upgrade offers. but this inconsistency is getting on my nerves. Anyone out there with similar experiences and suggestions?

unfortunately if they dont leave a note its hard to prove, get them to check for any trace to chase the person, (next time everyone you speak to get a name and extension number)
maybe ring back and see if they record calls
to be honest even if there is a trace i doubt they would tell you now because of the noteYes Your Dukeiness0 -
