Stolen recovered car status not shown on hpi check

Has anyone come across this before? Car came up clear on a hpi check but i found out it was stolen and recovered previously. When I spoke to the hpi they said it isn't now shown on a check if there was no claim involved. Has anyone else had experience of this? Would there be any impact on resale or vehicle value if it…

I see what you mean now, you mean that the HPI should disclose everything known about the vehicles history.

The HPI report only shows if the vehicle has been previously written off or is currently subject to finance (except a logbook loan AFAIK)

No doubt there is a record somewhere of every claim that has been paid out, which if you had access to it, might change whether you bought the car or not, so I can see that it might be useful, but you won't get it from HPI.

I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
