I bought a new memory foam mattress a month ago and I hate it.
It feels too warm and and clingy.
Yet my wife loves it.
Will I get used to it or shall I try and persuade the shop I bought it from to take it back or is that not possible after a month?
I suppose after 46 years of sleeping together it might have to be separate beds.
It feels too warm and and clingy.
Yet my wife loves it.

Memory foam mattresses are the Bovril of the bedding market ... you either love them or hate them. (There aren't many indifferent opinions about them).
My daughter loves hers.0 -
Hopefully you won't need to go down the seperate beds road - can't you put two single mattresses together to suit your own needs and cover them with normal double bedding?
Not sure about what the returns policy might be after a month - I guess you can only ask...0 -
You will get used to it0

I got a memory foam mattress from Smithstherink when they had their sale earlier this year, the original Tempur one in on here http://www.smithstherink.co.uk/tempur-m17 and before I just had a standard spring mattress.
It was uncomfortable at first as it seemed like quite a bit of a change but when I got used to it it's been brilliant.0 -
We hated ours and got rid of it just before Easter (well, technically speaking it's propped against the wall in our spare room
)
It was quite uncomfortable, I found the fact that it 'moulded' to my shape irritating as I move about a fair bit in my sleep, and my wife was forever overheating.
We have since moved to a Sealey mattress with a Latex top. It seems to offer all the benefits of memory foam, but the overheating issue is now solved.
That said, we did go for a slightly softer mattress than the previous one. That has doubtless made a difference, too0 -
I hated my memory foam mattress, and also because I'm a bit heavier around my butt I found it gave me a terrible back ache, took ages to figure out it was the mattress.
Changes to a firm mattress but with a goose down topper ( not a cheap one, nice and thick and soft). Helped immensely0 -
I am a great fan of my memory foam mattresses and pillows. No noisy and uncomfortable springs, firm support in the right places and very comfortable.
Great prices too - double mattresses £99 each at Poundstretcher when on offer and pillows £6 each at What! store.
I Know it can take a while to get used to a completely different type of mattress but its worth persisting with memory foam.0 -

Sorry to say but trying to return a mattress after it's been used is highly unlikely.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0
