I will say it makes it hard for night time fun with the missus though compared to a sturdy old mattress

I hate them. They are so hot and sweaty, as a rule i sleep on top of the quilt but I still woke up in a pool of sweat every morning.

I worry that some latex foam mattresses are referred to as "memory foam" in error. We just got a combination double-sprung & latex foam mattress, and it's firm and not at all hot for sleeping (days 40C nights 25C here this week, and humid!). After the cheap mattress that came with the house, it's so nice to have excellent support and be able to turn over without disturbing my OH (I'm an active sleeper).

The impetus for getting our bed was I'm 192cm and our old one was 180cm long, but I daresay my OH loves the new bed more than I do! She's noticeably more "rested" after sleeping. Or maybe I'm projecting.

Hated mine with a passion, so much so, after about 6 months I gave it to my son. I now have an ortho sprung one with built in memory foam topper. It's much cooler than the full foam one. So far so good

You will get used to it
No you won't. Had mine 3 years and changed it for a pocket spring last week. O the bliss of a comfy nights sleep,

Same here. Loathe mine. Had it 12 months and it is not comfortable at all.

Take it back and do what my parents do - get a single memeory foam mattress topper, trim it down a bit and put it on your wifes side, then she gets memory foam and you don't.

I bought a memory foam mattress from Groupon in January. It has a 4 inch memory bit and the rest is just springs like normal.

I found it hard and uncomfortable and it felt like the springs were coming through the memory foam.

After 2 weeks I realised I was using it upside down, literally I was sleeping on the springs!!

After turning it upright it is bliss, the best mattress and nights sleep I have ever had.

Still feel like an idiot though!!

I don't understand sprung mattresses at all, they're so flipping noisy and bouncy!

I can't say I've ever had a noisy sprung mattress, or bouncy either, we always get a firm one.
