What reuseables do you use?

otherWe've got Bambineo (was Wambamboo, soon to be bambinex apparently)- good value, very very soft- even when dried on the line / indoors!
Little Lambs are GORGEOUS too and I heard they might be looking for agents (read it on another website somewhere- can't tell you any more!) They've just started doing bamboo nappies too.0 -
Blimey...there's about 5 makes on here I haven't even heard of! Off to the nappy lady to research more I feel!Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

As long as you stock different types as oppose to different brands you should be ok. Hope this has been of help. Had forgotten how enthusastic I could get about cloth nappies!
Think this is what I was aiming for for the 3-4 brands I stock...the most user friendly stuffable, prefold etc.
Was also considering a hire scheme too as it is so user friendly, but need to think that one through so you don't make too much of a loss as I don't feel comfortable hiring out nappies already used...I know some people won't have a problem with this, but appreciate that others would, so it's finding the happy medium that means I'm not left with a shed load of used goods.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

otherI wouldn't worry about hiring out or selling used nappies as long as you get the price right. Most of the nappies I have (except some terries) are used as I've been given them or been able to buy them cheaply.0

Thing is Justie, I think a lot of us on here are happy to use 2nd hand reuseables...I certainly am.
But most of my friends who do use reuseables wouldn't even entertain the idea of it. They wouldn't even trial the ones I was willing to lend them for free!!!! To them it was too icky, despite my reassurances that a 90 degree wash would certainly kill off anything from the previous user.
And I think if most of my reuseable friends are thinking that way, most of my buyers will be too.
I really think us MSErs are a unique breed! All the above friends who marvel at my money saving ways are yet to visit this website, despite them wanting to save money like me. They like the idea, but can't be bothered to do anything about it.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

otherI think with the rise of Freecyle, ebay etc there is a market out there for second hand - it's always good to have options imo and if you get the price point right then it may be a good way of increasing your business either by selling on the used nappies or expanding the trail hires. An alternative is to look at places like the nappy lady and look at the resale values on there and only trial nappies that you know you'll be able to sell on even if it's not through your shop. I think there's also a big difference between first time mums and those on subsequent babies - I would say that MSEers are unusual in that a higher proportion of first time mums on here are looking at second hand goods. I would presume that anyone who already uses cloth nappies and is looking to expand their collection would know the realities and be in favour of second hand if they're a good price. I could be wrong though...0

otherI have used a vast number of different brands. In my opinion I made mistakes in the early days by using prefold nappies (Bambino Mios) which weren't absorbent enough and tended to leak. I got fantastic advice from both www.lizziesrealnappies.co.uk and www.thenappylady.co.uk. Using their advice i started using Tots Bots (mainly bamboozles but also Tots Bots Originals) - both were fantastic when used with the Motherease wraps - they are however not particularly easy to dry (so take this into account if you don't have a dryer to back you up!). For people who want a birth to potty nappy I also love Easy peasy bambeasy - these are slim even on a newborn and are really good value for money.0

I bought tots bots originals for my son (now 4) and used motherease rikki wraps, the nappies are now being used for my daughter (now 16 months) and all I have had to do is replace a few wraps. I too didn't like tots bots wraps for some reason.
I used muslin squares in the early days, with motherease wraps. I have a mix of velcro and nippa fastenings.0 -
otherI have used Kushies with both of mine and love them. They come in baby and toddler sizes. The Kushies ultra (the ones I have) are all in one, soft, thick cotton on the inside and a waterproof covering attached. They hold together with velcro and are used just like disposables.
He has to be really wet before it leaks, just like a disposable, and it contains the poo very well, better than a disposable imo. As long as I've put it on right. If I am slapdash with it I pay the price (like today when it went all down my leg!)
They're also nicely round on the bum but thin at the sides so most clothes fit okay but it provides a bit of padding for when they fall a lot!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -

Don't you just love baby poo?!
Not long till it hardens now Gingham!!!!! Weaning not far now!
On a separate note, little bylette decided today was a good day for her first few steps. How proud am I? And how bizarre that it was exactly 10 days after her 1st birthday...exactly the same space of time between birthday and steps as little byl in 2005!Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
