After reading Martin's advice about the Halifax Clarity card being the best, I applied online. I was approved and was sent an email telling me to take my ID into a local branch. So I did. A month later I received another email from the Halifax telling me I needed to take my ID into the branch. Confused, I phoned the Halifax. They had not received my ID and asked me to do this again; it must have got lost. Feeling frustrated I took my ID into the branch again. Then when I got home I wrote a letter of complaint to the Halifax and emailed it to them. I got a nice phone call apologising and a few days later I received a cheque for £117; £75 for the distress and £42 to cover phone calls. I now have my credit card. Fair play Halifax. It is worth complaining when things go wrong.0
