LOWELL PORTFOLIO I LTD Default

Hi Everyone
I got an alert from Experian today informing me a default had been placed on my credit file by the named company for £21.
There was previously no entry for this company on my credit file and it appeared right away with the [8] indicating a default.
I spoke to Lowell and they informed me the default was in relation to a defaulted O2 account.
I have 2 entries for O2 on my credit file and both were settled and not in default. Lowell informed me they will only take over a defaulted O2 account on a credit report and would not add there own.
I spoke to Experian who agreed there has been no default for O2 against me and have sent a request to Lowell for removal..
My question is... how successful do people think I will be? And if not successful how badly will a default for £21... affect my future credit worthiness.
Thank you in advance.

I am 99% sure I have never defaulted on an account... I had missed payments in the past but managed to settle the accounts. I need to contact O2 tomorrow to be certain of this.
But surely if I had defaulted there would be an entry on my report showing the missed payments leading to my default?
P.S Lowell said the default had been made by O2 in July 2013... but nothing ever registered on my credit report and I had no letters.

Just wanted to check there wasn't something leading up to this which might not show on your original report any more. Sounds like Lowell default is completely wrong so they must remove it. If they refuse take them and O2 to the ombudsmans.Still rolling rolling rolling......

Sorry to bump an old thread... But I would just like to inform everyone that I had a success in getting this removed from my file after fighting Lowell tooth and nail. So if anyone else has a similar situation it is very much worth your time in pursing them.
If anyone would like any advice on dealing with these guys please feel free to message me.
Thanks!0 -

I am in the same boat. I keep asking them to either please prove it or remove it, I have also been fighting tooth and nail for months, they can not prove it but will not remove it.0 -
If O2 or anyone else sold a bad debt that isn't a bad debt to Lowell then the fault is that of O2 and not Lowell who will have bought it in good faith.
First steps are to complain through their complaints procedure to the CRA, Lowell and O2 and ask Lowell for a copy of the original contract and the final account statement. If all fails then tell Lowell that you intend to make a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service and if they don't fix it, do it.
Remember that when you complain you need to allow them at least six weeks to fix the problem before you take it to the FOS.0 -
I have been fighting this since May. Lowell said they will provide proof but since have changed tactics and try saying other things. They can not send me any proof, just try to fob me off. I have sent this further letter both electronic and by recorded delivery.
Dear Lowell
Further to your last communication I am disappointed to have still not yet received documentation to prove the alleged debt obligation that you are responsible for recording in my name. You said you would send me the proof that I have been requesting for over 2 months now since May 2014.
If it is on its way then no further action needs to be taken from you until you hear from my legal team. If it has not yet been sent as you promised then can I please formally ask once again to please send me the alleged signed agreement. My solicitor needs to see the signature and the entire agreement because I do not acknowledge this obligation on my part.
I have asked many times now please can you either prove it or remove it from my file. Please can we try sort this ASAP I still do not have any knowledge of this alleged debt obligation that you are responsible for recording on my credit file and need to see your proof so that we can get to the bottom of this.

I had a default from Lowell, in addition to a Default from TMobile in exactly the same circumstances. I ended up emailing the CEO's of both companies and both defaults have now been removed.0
